We had been going to another vet, less expensive with great care for many years. Our dog suddenly got very ill and we started doing tests . but our vet was very busy and ready to retire resulting in no diagnosis. One morning she was at deaths door, we rushed her to Calgary North. They took her right in and told us that it would take some tests to find out what was wrong if we wanted to save her, if we didn't she would die within 24 hours. It was costly, but at only 8 years old we felt it was worth it to try to save her. They found out it was Addison's disease, and after we tried at home to save her with med's and 24hour care, we brought her back near her end and said good-bye. Everyone at Calgary North were caring, respectful and sincere. They did everything they could to save her and tried to give us hope. Yah it cost us some money, but sometimes you go to the 5 star hotels because you will get the best service. How much value do you put on a member of the family? Yah it is just an animal, but sometimes you spend a bit more to try to save them.
