Click to report rating    7/5/13   1     1     1     1   My dog had an emergency c-section, I was told she had an infection and needed antibiotics, but when released, I was told differant, after another trip back here, finally antibiotics, but the infection had already got to 3 of the pups thru nursing. Four days later, momma passed away. Luckily I took the pups somewhere else, I'm now bottle feeding the remaining 3 puppies. I will never take ANY animal there again. RID: 43494

Click to report rating    9/3/12   5     5     5     5   I have been taking my rabbits to see Dr. Weltig for a while now and he is wonderful with them. He and Brandon are always very knowledgeable, caring, and kind. Dr. Weltig also sees dogs and cats. I highly recommend seeing Dr. Weltig. Did I mention that Brandon is an awesome Vet Tech?? Click to report rating    12/29/11   1     3     1     1   First in calling for an appointment, the staff was rude and abrupt. I felt like I was bothering her in just trying to get an appointment. We had to wait 3 hours after making an appointment. A staff infection went unnoticed until I took my dog to another vet for a second opinion. This vet is more pricey than most vets, definitely not what they used to be. RID: 30131

Click to report rating    12/28/11   4     4     1     1   I go to Webster Groves because of the hours they are available. They prices have gotten outrageous over the years. They used to be my primary care vet. The doctors are nice and knowledgable as is the staff. It is frustrating when you make an appointment for a set time and don't get in until an hour later. I have spent two hours there mostly waiting for the doctor or waiting to check out. After going there for ten years with the same two dogs, I was quite frustrated with how they treated my dog and I when he was diagnosed with cancer. I was informed by a doctor I had never met and was sat down and told that he had bladder cancer and in males is mostly fatal! He then walked out of the room with nothing more to say. Worse than that, when my baby finally passed away, I requested creamation. They informed me a week later that his body was mistagged and gone. ?????? This is why I use them for emergencies only as no one else is open at the necessary hours. RID: 30109

11/24/09   5     5     5     5   Dr. Hendrickson provided excellent care for my dog when he stayed there for several days secondary to severe gastritis/obstruction. She updated me on his condition daily, and she treated him and myself with much appreciated compassion. Thank you! RID: 15447

10/27/09   5     5     5     5   Every time that I have taken my dog to Webster Groves Animal Hospital the staff is friendly and willing to discuss any questions that I may have had. I feel that the late and very early appointment times make it very easy to get my animal seen without having to miss work. I will say that when my dog was very sick with blood disorder the doctor was somewhat evasive with what testing needing to be done and not done and this upset my husband. This is why I gave 4 stars rather than 5. RID: 15074

4/23/09   1     3     1     1   The staff are unbelievably rude and seem like they couldn't care less. Good luck getting to talk to an actual vet on the phone for an update. I even know rescues who won't take their animals near the place. They are only about quantity, and upfront $$$. The facility is not bad and they are fairly cheap but you get what you pay for. I will not be back. RID: 12538

10/19/08   1     3     1     2   Absolutely horrible treatment. I've never felt like a number when visiting a veterinarian until I came to Webster Groves Animal Hospital. If you feel like being part of a factory operation and waiting for hours with no explanation, then this is your place. If you want caring, concerned veterinarians and staff who actually care about you and your animal, look elsewhere. RID: 10336

Click to report rating    7/15/08   5     5     5     5   We took our lizards to see Dr. Weltig and both he and his assistant helped us so much! I haven't met a vet that knows as much as him! And the assistant handled our lizards with the ease of a pro! They spent a lot of time talking to us to get an idea of our set up at home. They suggested a few changes in their environment and the doctor suggested that I run tests on my lizard that my old vet never suggested. We couldn't be happier! For top quality reptile care, you gotta see Dr. Weltig! RID: 9326

4/9/08   2     3     2     3   Total turnoff. It's like an assembly line. Hard to develop relationship with one doctor. Office manager is extremely rude. Doctor was cracking jokes and having personal conversation with the assistant during exam which I felt was INAPPROPRIATE! I have since switched to a veternarian with compassion and time. RID: 7990

1/26/08   2     3     1     3   I brought my cat in on an emergency basis because she was in some respiratory distress (open mouth breathing). I waited 10 minutes outside of a room and 10 more minutes inside of the room before I saw the vet. All the while, I heard the vet talking and laughing and carrying on leisurely with the client in the room next to mine, while I waited in agony as I watched my cat struggle to breath. During that time, an apathetic vet tech came in to check on us and simply said to let him know if her breathing got any worse (not sure how I was to let him know). I was on the verge of tears and my stomach was in knots. Then, when the vet ordered a chest x-ray, the same apathetic vet tech took my cat back and I could hear her screaming from across the clinic. This is a cat who never complains at the vet and had been fine with chest x-rays at my regular vet. When I asked the tech if that was my cat screaming, he said "she's fine" in his apathetic tone and that was it. RID: 7108

1/18/08   2     5     3     5   WGAH is an impressive facility and they have some great vets on staff (and some not-so-great). They do alot for rescue, but they also treat rescue people like **** stepchildren. If you have a dog recovering from surgery or heartworm treatment, good luck getting any info on how they are doing. Generally, no one knows or, if they do, they're uninclined to share that information. I basically stopped going there after a staff member actually followed me from room to room harassing me. WGAH used to be very good but they have declined in both quality and committment. RID: 6996

Click to report rating    1/14/08   4     5     5     5   I've been using this vet for over 20 years - for 3 different dogs. Because of a relocation we had to several different vets but as soon as we came back I went straight back to WGAH! Dr. Domer is our vet and we are very pleased!!!! RID: 6941

Click to report rating    12/6/07   5     5     2     4   Dr. Bedow has been our only vet for several years and we really love his relaxed, matter-of-fact attitude. Money is definitely an issue for us and he always breaks it down for us as to how much everything will cost and what the possible alternatives are. He is familiar with us and remembers our pets. The service can sometimes be very slow, but it has improved greatly since they moved a few years ago. I blame their personal attention for the slowness and thats fine with me. A couple of years ago one of our dogs had to have double back knee surgery and they took excellent care of her. As far as one comment made about students and recent grads, that is how new vets get experience and it is a necessary part of the process sometimes. After all, some of the best people hospitals in the country are teaching hospitals, and St. Louis is proof of that. RID: 6612

10/23/07   1     3     3     2   The front office staff is AWFUL and rude. The clinic needs more help and a more caring front office staff. The amount of time wasted on- hold is unacceptable! I will say I loved my vet, but she wasn't enough to keep me coming back. I hope the administration looks into correcting the horriable image created by the staff answering the phones and "greeting" the clinents! RID: 6219

8/8/07   2     3     1     3   The business model is genius; however, the general trend of service is slower response times or lack of responses to our questions and calls. While I'm certain there are competent veterinarians on staff, there have been multiple incidents of misdiagnosis and at one time a pet that died in their care while no one can tell us how or when. We have been patient and are the kind of people who believe in the giving others second, third, etc. chances. We were not comfortable leaving an ill pet in the care of the veterinarians there recently due to an aloof and less-than-caring response from a veterinarian. It is a culmination of events that have led to taking the time to express our general lack of confidence in the operation. The administrative operation needs management oversight - follow-up is very poor and customer service is mostly ignored. As with the vets on staff, there may be one or two superstar administrative / tech staff; however, as a group, there is room for improvement. RID: 5535

8/8/07   2     4     1     1   My dog nearly died in the care of this vet, they charged us insane amounts of money for services that were not necessary (also causing my dog to suffer), failed to properly diagnose him when all he had was worms, and also would never respond to my letters about complants. RID: 5533

Click to report rating    8/8/07   5     5     4     5   This vet has such a large staff that, if one vet is unsure about a diagnosis, they have several others to confer with. Also, I can choose to either see my favorite, Dr. Tate, or the hours make it possible to bring my pet in almost any time without having to pay the huge fees at the emergency clinic RID: 5530

Click to report rating    6/23/07   4     5     3     3   We take our pet rodents to Dr. Wilson at Webster Groves and she is AWESOME. She has done an excellent job treating our pets for us. The price is kind of high, but we feel it's worth it to have her caring for our pets instead of some less expensive but barely competent vet. I'm not fond of a few of the receptionists because they don't seem to know much, but as far as actually being at our appointment I love the place. Dr. Wilson is a fantastic vet and we're definitely going to keep going to her even though she's nearly an hour away. RID: 4764

2/4/07   5     5     5     5   The facility is amazing at Webster. They have many state of the art things and the doctor are very knowledgeable. I am always greated when I walk in the front doors, and the veterinarians always answer any questions I may have. The also have wonderful emergency services and I can go in there any time of the day without an appointment if I have an emergency. I would recommend this vet to many people! I especially like Dr. Tate and Dr. Randazzo. RID: 2613

Click to report rating    1/31/07   4     4     4     4   We have been taking our 4 chinchillas to Dr. Wilson at Webster Groves for almost a year now. She is the only vet we have found in the area that has good knowledge of them, and we are very glad to have found her! She has worked on one of our males' molars and he has been better than ever since. Have heard good things about Webster Groves in general, but have no direct experience with anyone else. Our only complaint is that Dr. Wilson is not available on Mondays, and that there is no one else available who sees exotics. RID: 2364

Click to report rating    1/31/07   1     3     2     3   There are too many vets, and many just out of school. There is not time alloted to discuss my dog and her medical issues. Then they mis-diagnoised her with degerative vertebra disease. I would never recommend this veterinary clinic. RID: 2355

Click to report rating    12/18/06   5     5     4     4   I've taken one dog there for emergency treatment and it was great. My other 2 dogs have been patients there and I found the doctors I had were outstanding. I was especially impressed the way Dr. Tate handled the situation when I had to put my 12 year old Shih-tzu to sleep. They had been treating her for bladder cancer. He was very kind and patient and even sent me a personal handwritten note afterward. I am very impressed. It is a bit pricey but I think worth the money if you want quality care. RID: 1329

10/23/06   5     5     4     4   I don't agree with the first review. I've been going to WGAH for 4 years and have always found their vets to be very caring and thorough. I have been with my pets every time they've received vaccinations. They have unbelievable hours and I've gotten same day appointments often. They also offer reasonably priced vaccination "packages." My dogs especially like Dr. Britt. RID: 133
