Click to report rating    2/5/10   4     5     2     1   Dr. Gilgi was very committed to do the best job for a person that is willing to pay a ton of unresonable fees and redciculous charges for worthless services. They did make me feel like a bad owner if I did not do the services. A little rough with my dog, luckily he is pretty hardy. Recommended a ton of follow up visit which they would charge for of course... Why do you always have to feel like you are getting sold at a veterenary clinic vs. getting resonalble caring service. Click to report rating    1/24/10   1     1     1     1   I took my sick dog in to see them because a friend said good things bout them. When I walked in the front door the place stunk. I have been to several animal clinics with my pets and have never smelled anything so bad. The doctor didn't care about our dog - and made us feel guilty because we don't have enough money for the tests he insisted we run. The person who helped with r dog was really rough with my poor old dog. The lady behind the front desk gave us a dirty look when we couldn't afford what they wanted us to do. She "tried" to work with us but we left with a very sick dog who died because they didn't care. RID: 16292

Click to report rating    3/31/09   5     5     5     5   would not take my dogs anywhere else. Have seen about every vet there and all are WONDERFUL. Compassionate, kind and very attentive to owner concerns. Dr. Pullen, our primary vet, explains everything to us, and really knows our dogs. Dr. Pletz performed an emergency surgery for us after hours, and kindly walked us through all possible outcomes. Dr. Gilje saw us through one passing, with grace and compassion, going with us to the emergency vet after business hours. There just aren't enough good things to say about them. My daughter wants to become a vet because of these wonderful women, and is waiting excitedly to get old enough to volunteer there. RID: 12305

9/15/08   5     5     5     3   I have used this clinic for over 20 yrs. Have seen this practice grow to it's 3rd building know & always getting better.I first meet Dr Gilgy w/my mixed breed when she took time out of her lunch to find me info on the dogs disease. Have seen almost all the vets that have been there/or are there know. Some that have left for their own practices, but only after learning from Dr Caroline. This office has been a dream from helping me & my family help my mixed breed across rainbow bridge, to our epileptic siberian & helping her cross over the bridge at 10pm one night.(long past closeing time) Prices maybe a bit higher, but the care & understanding you get is worth the price. If they don't know the answer, they will find out & have unlimited resources. Always willing to do emerency calls & some time surgeries too & talk to you on the phone for problems or concerns. I drive from St Peters to get to them, because of their caring ways. RID: 10003

Click to report rating    1/31/07   3     5     4     2   While Dr. Gilje is an excellent and professional veterinarian, I have found that some of the other vets do not give much credence to the owner's concerns or experience with their animals. RID: 2382

Click to report rating    1/31/07   4     4     4     1   I took my dog to Barrett Station for a check up and pricing for a spay. I was quoted a price, but when I picked up my dog many other charges had been added that were not quoted. I did some research and found that they are one of the highest in charges of any area veterinarian clinic. RID: 2353

11/11/06   5     5     5     5   I have been a client of Barrett Station Veterinary Clinic for over 10 years now. I came to them because I was trying to find out how to get rid of fleas on my dog Misty. This was back in the day before frontline, etc. The staff was so kind and helpful. I talked with one of the doctors for about 20 minutes on the phone and she was so patient and generous. So I started seeing Dr. Caroline Gilje (nee Truss) who helped me take care of Misty. She also helped me to say good-bye. One of the hardest things I've ever done. At this time I was having other problems in my life and Dr. Gilje and all of her staff were so very kind. Now my Sophie is cared for there. And I know she is cared for very well. It would take far more than 1000 characters to tell you of Dr. Gilje and her staff's character. They provide kind, caring, quality health care and give dignity to all. They have my sincere gratitude always. Thank you Dr. Gilje, et al. RID: 647
