Click to report rating    11/16/12   2     3     1     3   I've never heard of a vet that doesn't take appointments. Vet service was ok but I think that staff is used to people who really just want to pay the minimum as I had to ask for additional services. This used to be THE place to go but I'm moving on... Click to report rating    8/23/12   1     3     1     3   They don't take appointments so be prepared to wait for hours. Front desk staff is rude (and I had this experience several times). Medical care was fine but I have changed to another vet who takes appointments and has a nicer desk staff. RID: 36756

Click to report rating    12/1/10   5     5     5     5   We are so glad we found Dr. Patrick and his staff after years of paying exorbitant prices that made the care for our dogs unaffordable. He is so compassionate and, as others have said, doesn't nickel and dime you to death. How refreshing....I'm sorry I didn't come to him years ago! RID: 21181

Click to report rating    9/28/10   5     5     5     5   We have been taking our pets to Dr. Patrick's for 15 years now--he is simply said: wonderful! He has shown compassion, expertise and excellent medicine to our animals. Wouldn't take mine anywhere else. Have watched Matthew grow up and now is has been part of the practice for some now. Love him too! The tech's are really good and compassionate as well. RID: 19965

All animals are better for having known or knowing Dr Patrick, and his son is wonderful too! We can't thank him enough for unending care and love for animals! RID: 13795

Click to report rating    7/6/09   5     5     5     5   We have been taking our animals to Dr. Patrick for almost 20 years. On a scale of one to 5, Patrick rates a 10. We have found him to be knowledgeable and always caring. He has a way with animals and people that few humans have. I have even known him to take very ill pets home so that he could give them 24 hour care. You can not find a better Vet or a finer person. He has surrounded himself with a wonderful, caring staff and his son, Matthew, has joined the practice. This is a class act. RID: 13398

Click to report rating    10/29/08   5     5     4     5   Dr. Patrick is phenomenal. He and his staff are always so friendly and their love of animals definitely shines through. I was in Dr. Patrick’s office yesterday when a nice lady came in. She was inquiring about her dog’s condition and asked what she could do. The nurse said she’d need to see Dr. Patrick, as the condition didn’t seem too good. She quietly told the nurse she was saving up to bring him in, but needed help in the meantime. The nurse told her, “Hang on, let me talk to Dr. Patrick.” He came out and talked to her personally, told her what to do in the meantime, and he said, “If the dog is not better by Friday, come on in and I’ll need to look at him.” In a world where everyone is out to make money, money, money this man is truly an inspiration and someone the Charleston community should love and respect. Click to report rating    10/9/07   5     5     5     5   My grandparents took their dogs to Dr. Patrick. So did my parents. So do I, even though there are vets much closer to my home. He is kind and compassionate. I wouldn't dream of going anywhere else! RID: 6098

Click to report rating    9/14/07   5     5     5     5   I love going to Dr. Patrick's office. I always feel as though my dogs and cats are number one to them. I recently had a cat hit by a car and they treated her like the queen she is. Stormy is completely healed and healthy and it is because of this vet group. They are the BEST!!! RID: 5902

Click to report rating    9/13/07   5     5     5     5   When I first moved to Charleston, I took my Pit Bull Petey to Dr. Patrick for his yearly shots and toenail clipping and he was wonderful. I enjoy his knowledge and compassion, but unfortunately I need to bring my Petey back to him in the morning to look at some sort of cyst on his neck that keeps draining blood. :( RID: 5886

Click to report rating    7/21/07   5     5     5     5   Dr Patrick and his staff are the BEST! Dr Patrick is absolutely passionate about his work. You leave his office feeling GREAT about being a pet owner. He obviously isn't in business for the $$$$ because the fees are minimal at Patrick Veterinary Clinic. RID: 5296

Click to report rating    6/29/07   5     5     5     5   I have been going to Dr. Patrick for the last ten years & I would never consider changing. Fortunately his son has the practice as well! You have to wait when you get there, but the advantages outweigh the negatives-You can go the day that works for you (they have Saturday hours too) & if they took appointments, you would never get in because he has such a loyal following. It is hard to describe what makes him so special, but one friend I sent him to described him as a "gentle giant" and I think that is a good characterization. He is a tall guy with a big voice, kind demeanor and you can tell that he just loves what he does. He has so much experience and can diagnose things so quickly. The other doctors are great too, great staff, great prices, great new building. I had a beloved pet that I had to put to sleep last year, and they did not charge. I don't know if it is a policy, but I know others who haven't been charged. They were just so compassionate during a painful experience. RID: 4979

Click to report rating    6/20/07   5     5     5     5   Patrick Vet Clinic has taken care of my Labradors for the last 16 years. From delivering pups on Thanksgiving Day to offering advice and support through bone cancer, these folks have been there for us. I have recommended them throughout the years to anyone and everyone looking for a quality vet. Those that have used him have always thanked me for the recommendation. I prefer the no appointment policy, as I can get my animals in when needed, even if it means waiting. For a no nonsense approach to vet care, without all the costly unneeded add-ons that other vet clinics will zap you for, there is no better in the Lowcountry than Dick Patrick and his staff. It is refreshing to find someone who is more interested in the animals and their owners than in the dollars, and that attitude has translated into a very strong reputation and a successful practice. If you are reading this because you are looking for a vet, I urge you to visit Patrick Veterinary Clinic. You won't be sorry! RID: 4659

Click to report rating    1/17/07   5     5     5     5   I love this place. They are very fairly priced. They did a great job spaying my pet. She recovered in no time, left no scar, and they did it very quickly and told me when my baby's operation was over and successful. They did a good job treating her ears too. I changed clinic after reading www.sheridantruth.com about Folly Road Animal Hospital. RID: 2046

Click to report rating    1/14/07   5     5     5     5   Very caring veterinarian with very reasonable pricing and treatment. I took my lab mix to them after spending a fortune at other local vets on his ears (psuedomonos), was given the correct dosage for this condition at a reasonable price and ears were 90% better within one week and I could afford the treatment. He also helped me with some rescues from a former client of his who committed suicide and helped me deal with one of the dogs who had lymphoma for only the cost of the meds and lab work. When Eli's time was up he euthanized him at no cost. They have always been very nice and helpful. Thank God for vets that actually care about the pets well being more than the monetary issue. I also took a clients dog of mine to him while I had him as he also had lymphoma. Even though it was not my personal animal they treated Ivy and I both with the utmost respect and caring. RID: 1980

Click to report rating    1/9/07   5     5     5     5   Patrick Veterinary Clinic has the nicest staff on the planet - everyone there is so kind and you can tell they love what they work and the animals they work care for. The one downside, is they do not accept appointments - so you may have to wait a while - but it's worth for the great care your pet will receive. RID: 1884
