The last reviewer is nuts. Dr Kaplan has twice been voted by NY Magazine as one of NYC's Best Vets, and for good reason...he's brilliant, kind, compassionate and a tireless advocate for animal health and safety. My three dogs have seen Dr Kaplan since he opened his own practice in 2003 and I have never once had a complaint about the quality of treatment that I or my dogs received. Dr Kaplan has the most modern equipment and keeps on top of all the latest research, diagnostic and treatment options so he can offer the best possible care. He supports traditional and alternative medicine options and gives his honest opinion as to the necessity or value of all treatment options. That's why even though I now live 30 miles away, I STILL insist on taking my dogs to Dr Kaplan. True, he does not believe in euthanization for animals that still have a decent quality of life. He won't kill an animal just because it has become an inconvenience to its owner and that makes me respect him even more! |

KAPLAN put my 17-year old cat, 6 lb. (and losing weight rapidly) through hell, for money only. My cat had chronic kidney failure, thyroid disease, stomach inflammation - possibly cancer - arthritis (which he repeatedly said he didn't know if he had; another vet confirmed), dehyrdation, severe weakness and in my emotional state he put him in his "hospital." NO REPUTABLE VET WOULD HAVE PUT HIM THROUGH THIS HELL. He could never be cured, would live a few months only AND WOULD HAVE TO HAVE DAILY INJECTIONS which he never told me about. I had to beg, hysterically, for 30 minutes when he refused to put him to sleep; he refused saying he wouldn't do it if it was his cat. He finally did. Needless work was suffered by my cat. He is in it for money; a horrible, horrible vet who plays on your emotional state. |
