We learned of Westbridge and Dr. Hylands from a fellow husky owner and we are so thankful! He and the staff are great, they never make you feel rushed and always take time to explain and answer questions. We found them to be much better priced then most vets, you can really tell that they are in it for your pets care and not about the money. The clinic is always very clean. They call and/or email checking on your pet (they show concern). They understand that it's not just a pet but a member of th family. We find them to be very honest. We recommend them to all pet owners! |

Words can't describe how grateful I am for everything the Westbridge Veterinary Clinic did for my family. Our husky needed surgery on her knee and even though the situation was extremely stressful, the staff at Westbridge did everything they could to help us through it. Choosing this clinic was the best decision we could of made; the people genuinely cared about our pet. This isn't just a business for them. In our case our husky needed surgery on both her knees and the staff went above and beyond to help us. Had we gone to any other clinic there's no chance we would of been able to afford it. Luckily, we were blessed by extremely sympathetic and compassionate professionals that gave us an amazing price and even kept our pet for an extra week just to ensure that she was in good shape when we brought her home. And now she's doing so much better and is recovering at an amazing rate. Trust me, if you care about your pet and want the best service possible then go to Westbridge. |

As the result of a 7.5 hour long surgery, I recently earned the dubious distinction of being the recipient of the largest bill in Dr Hylands’ career. The accounting was mostly for hardware and consumables and likely it would have been more profitable if they had spent the day doing a couple of spay jobs and looking after some walk-ins.
I am appalled by the vitriolic comments of a few posters on this site. Their perception of Dr Hylands is so far removed from the man I have known for fifteen years that one has to wonder through what sort of filter these people view the world. The aversion to ‘the male doctor’, and the contentions of being emotionally manipulated and of padded billings, I think speaks more to the writers of this stuff than to the integrity of Dr Hylands.
Dr Hylands is not a god, he doesn’t work miracles and he isn’t always right - he’s just right more often than most! All the high fives tell the real story. Try Westbridge and you’ll likely never go anywhere else. |

Westbridge Animal Hospital is the best clinic I have ever taken our dogs to! I have taken my black lab as he needed surgery after hurting himself. The staff were remarkable, comforting and extremely knowledgeable. Andi from reception took care of us immediately and was extremely friendly during our whole visit. RVT's Becky and Dave guided us through the whole process and helped us understand what to expect and what we needed to do to help our big guy out. They were so amazing words cannot describe how thankful were are. Dr. HYLANDS. The best Vet I have ever met!! I have had the unpleasant pleasure of meeting several vets from different clinics. I will never take any of my animals anywhere else. Dr. HYLANDS was polite, friendly, professional and cared so much about us and our dog. The moment he met our dog he was on the floor playing around with him and examining him at the same time. I have never seen such a great vet in my life. Please take your animal here! you will not regret it. |

I have been taking my pets to see Dr. Hylands for going on 15 years, when he established Westbridge I followed. Not only is he outstanding, as is Dr. Rosamund, Dr. Brule, and Dr. Morin. They've saved the life of one of my dogs, and restored the mobility to another. I would not hesitate to recommend another vet in Mississauaga, or the GTA. Tope notch, advanced surgical facilities, amazing staff, and incredible warmth. |

I carefully researched surgeries and vets to find the right person to perform a knee operation after my Black Lab tore her ACL. I contacted 4 vets, including my own (who I had lost faith in after failure to diagnose why our spayed dog’s female organs were growing). My search for a new vet revealed widely varying prices and knee procedures offered. Dr. Hylands stood out, offering patient guidance and free consultation on the merits of options known as a TPLO, TTA, and a more routine 'extracapsular’ surgery. We chose the latter simpler procedure (a convincing recommendation, basically applying the KISS theory). We chose Westbridge to perform it, due to its people, superior operating tools and the doctor’s modern technique. In addition to the knee, the doctor suspected ovarian issues, performed an ultrasound and immediately operated to remove a benign tumor -- the source of the formerly undiagnosed female organ growth. Our dog is now rebounding quickly and I have Westbridge to thank! |

I went to the clinic for a second opinion, my dog had been limping on and off for a year. Dr Hylands examine my dog really well, and not only knew what it was right away, also Xray it immediately and took his time to explain to us in detail what the problem was and how to fix it. The surgery went perfectly and my dog is like a puppy again, now he feels good and he is happy. The staff is caring and attentive. The doctor is really honest and patient. I am really happy with this clinic and its people. Thank you! |

I can't say enough good things about Westbridge and their team of doctors. I came initially for a second opinion on my dog who had been vomiting off and on for two weeks, and my previous vet wasn't able to find the problem. Dr. Hylands has exceptional skills with the ultrasound, and spent over an hour with me going over his findings, and carefully explaining treatment. The facilities were extremely clean, and their staff caring, patient and just wonderful. Couldn't recommend them more! |

My dog was dying from a bad operation was done by another vet and I brought him to Westbridge Veterinary Hospital after read the review here and hope for the best. They took my dog in right away and found out there are a lot infection on his body through ultra sound (yes, they have ultra sound on the site!), they had to operate my dog next day and that saved his life!!! They also take great care of my dog and us after the operation and the doctors even check my dog up on the weekend when they are closed (they close on Sunday) to make sure he is OK. The doctor Sonia, Hyland and super great and friendly and I can thank them enough to save my dog's life and great care they offered. Also, the staffs at the hospital are great and they are the best vets I have ever met. They love what they do and they care what they do and they are not there just for money. |

Not very impressed with this clinic. Lady vet pointed out all of the "cosmetic" things wrong with my pet (warts, etc.) and mis-diagnosed my pet. Had an appointment but still had to wait 25 minutes. Cost me $500 after 15 minutes and I had to bring my pet to another clinic a few days later because of the worry nd guilt I was left with. Good thing is that I am now with a vet I trust. |

I've been dealing with them for probably 20 years. This most recent experience with my little Cosette last October and since the facility is not 24 hours Dr. Hylands and his staff went over and above during the Thanksgiving weekend and almost 3 weeks following with her in there almost all the time. He called me to tell me how she was doing. She had a feeding tube and he saved her life. I had pet insurance and he worked with me on that because the bill was 5,000. The only thing I wish at times is that he had a 24 hour clinic but in this case he made the necessary arrangements to care for her by sending someone or coming in himself to feed her every 8 hours and calling me on a holiday weekend. I trust them with what is the most precious things in my life, MY BABIES..... All the staff are pleasant, smart, and always willing to assist you. GREAT WORK |

I have been to many vets with our dog Dallas and I can honestly say now I would never even consider taking him anywhere else since we found Westbridge! Not only is the staff the most caring and considerate but the facility is amazing. With two knee surgeries they loved our pet just as we would have while he was on the mend. My entire family now brings their pets to Wesbridge. What I appreciate most is that they are the most honest facility I have been to yet. They will never ask to do an procedure or treatment unless it is needed. I feel confident and safe that what they are telling me is the truth and not that they just want more money (which I felt at all our past vets!). If you love your pet, and you probably do then take them to Westbridge!!! |

The negative ratings about the "male vet" (Dr. Hylands) are VERY accurate. I came from an emergency vet clinic that had my cat overnight, informed me her liver and kidneys had shut down and had a slim chance of living. I still wanted her to see my vet (Dr. Rosamund) who was unfortunately not available. Dr. Hylands was there and disgustingly preyed on my emotions. He said my cat was not doing too bad (even though she was lethargic, jaundice, and lost vital organ function). He boasted of how amazing he is and is pretty much a "Vet God", so I agreed to TWO tests for a second opinion. My cat died after two hours of being there. The next day my husband went to pay the bill, it was $1500! How could a TWO HOUR stay add up to that much, with NO surgery and NO overnight. Dr. Hylands took it upon himself to do all these VERY needless test without my permission. I was livid, he tried to convince me that I was wrong and did agree during my "emotional state". Stay clear from this manipulator!!! |

Dr Hylands is exceptional. He truly cares for my dog. Unlike other veterinarians , he spend time to examine and explain and never make us feel rushed. He is very skillful and takes pride in his work. He is a rare breed when it comes to money. He tries his best to cut down cost of treatment through choice of drugs and procedures. He even treat complications of treatment at no charge |

There is just no better vet than Westbridge. They care for your pet as though it is their own! We mainly see Dr. Hylands who we can not say enough great things about! We have seen the other vets who are also just as amazing! They take the time to explain everything to you, properly exam your pet and give options and are never pushed into a decision. They follow up when your pet is ill...we received daily phone calls! The staff is fabulous, friendly, polite and like the vets they will get on the floor and play with them. You can tell the doctors and the staff love what they do, they are truely there for the animals not the money! If you don't already bring your pet to them, then you need to switch! You will not be disappointed! |

My cat came here to get spayed. I had to pay $100 a night for her to stay there overnight where she was not being monitored. She chewed through her stitches 3 times and was not being monitored either of these times even during the day. So they had to put her under sedation 3 times to sew her paws again. I spent a lot of money to get her spayed and watched and my poor cat was not being watched properly and had to undergo further unnecessary anesthetic. When I talked to the doctors about it afterwards, they blamed it on my cat and that I should be happy that they stitched her back up at no charge. When this incident should not have happened in the first place. I will not go to this place again. |

The best vet I have ever had. The clinic treats the human-animal bond as well as the animal, and Dr. Hyland provided care for my cat as well as thoughtfully attending to my emotional needs. I came for a second opinion on my very sick, aging cat. Extraordinary compassion, extraordinary diagnostic capability and willingness to explain the diagnosis in great detail(as much as you need to know), Dr.Hyland is exceptional. "Knowledge is confidence". The tech staff is responsive, compassionate, and knowledgeable and the vet clinic is very well managed and professional. There are three other vets so the clinic is always well staffed. This vet clinic provides peace of mind. |

Great doctors & staff with an incredible amount of compassion. I brought my dog here for a second opinion. He had a problem that had started 10 months previously, and my regular vet was just prescribing antibiotics, which were not having any effect on the problem. I was supposed to bring my dog in for an offsite MRI, but unfortunately, the day before the consulting appointment, I had to rush my dog to emerge for a huge nose bleed and subsequently transferred to a specialist. I was being treated very rudely by the specialist, and went to Westbridge to update the vet on my dog, and perhaps seek some advice as to what to do. My dog was in pretty rough shape (remember at another clinc). Dr. Hylands spent 2 1/2 hours talking to me and explaining scenarios and options (which the other vet did not have time for). My dog wasn't even being treated by him! The compassion shown by Dr. Hylands was very much needed and appreciated. A heartfelt Thank-you for everything over the years! <3 |

THE BEST! Ive been to other vets (popular, expensive ones) and wasn't happy at all. You can tell the difference just by calling in on the phone and comparing how they greet you and answer questions and take appointments. Very professional...no silly little giggly girls working here. All knowledgeable animal lovers. On my first visit the man at the front even took the time to know my dogs name before hand and right when i walked threw the door he greeted us with, "Lola(my dogs name), right?". They really care about you and your pet. They never tried to oversell anything. Everything they suggested for my puppy was accompanied by literature and my freedom to choose. The prices are excellent! The staff are all very helpful, never rushing, taking the time(literally almost 2 hours they spent with me my first visit) to educated you and point you and your puppy in the right direction...and for you bulldog owners, they have experience with putting Bulldogs under anesthesia. THE BEST! |

We dealt with all the vets before they were at Westbridge. They will go above and beyond and are very clear when they suggest something. But it's the little things. Our little poodle loved men but shivered and shook so vet could never get accurate readings. Dr. Hylands held her in his lap (which she loved) and she calmed right down so good get accurate heart rate etc. When she had to be put down, Dr. Hylands made sure it was as peaceful as possible. My beagle had major surgery, my cat had major surgery and both made full recoveries with vet calling every couple of days to see how animal was doing. Yea, they are a bit expensive but worth it when it comes to my furbabies. |

I met with Dr. Morin and she took her time to answer all of my questions and didn't make me feel like she was rushing me out the door. I would recommend her and this clinic without hesitation. I felt the prices were average compared with other vets, I mean they are all a little expensive but this one not anymore than anyone else. |

Absolutely adore this place! I have dealt with Dr. Buller and Dr. Morin and have loved it each time. The first time was to vaccinate my cat and I wanted a specific vaccine which they happily ordered and didnt charge me more for. They took a complete history and checked her old leg injury just to be safe. They didnt even suggest other vaccines once I told them I wasn't interested and it was just great! She even made me feel great about my raw feeding my cats and thoroughly supported it. My cat loved Dr. Morin! The next time, my girlfriends 13 yr old cat (who is usually traumatized by her old vet) was throwing up and had diarrhea and Dr. Buller spent near an hour checking him out and making sure he was comfortable. She gave him 5 pills (only $5.25!) to settle his stomach and get him going again and suggested blood work as he is older, on kibble, and was sick. She left the room so we could discuss it and didnt push it. She was wonderful! Love this vet more than the 4 others I've been to. |

Love these guys - so glad they opened in Mississauga. This clinic is top notch. They genuinely care about animals and they take all the time they need to answer your questions without rushing you. They are always 100% honest about what your animal REALLY needs or does not need which is refreshing. There are too many vets out there who only care about the money and will over vaccinate and over medicate the animals to keep them sick and make more money. You can be sure that you will not find that type of unethical behavior at Westbridge. They really are THE BEST! If you truly love your animal, go here :) |

Been to Westbridge several times in the past few weeks, all the staff seem to be polite, well trained, and efficient. Dr. Rosamund was very thorough during my cat's exam and explained everything as she went along. She listened to our concerns and addressed every one to our satisfaction. Very professional! I had previous experiences with Dr. Hylands and Dr. Buller from their previous practice and was glad to hear they had opened a new practice in Mississauga. It is obvious that their primary concern is the health of your pet, not $$$$. Clean clinic, helpful & friendly doctors & staff. Highly recommend. |

I think the comments regarding "the male vet" are unfair. Dr. Hylands has been caring for my two dogs for eight years now. I first met him during a dog walk-a-thon and when I saw how he was with my dog, how much he cared about her, I knew I had to change vets. Dr. Hylands is very knowledgeable, an incredible surgeon and caring for your pet is his priority. He suggests different tests/procedures that can help diagnose - which can definitely add up, but he never pressures you into doing them. He's simply providing you the options. The facility is beautiful, the staff are amazing and all four of the vets are fantastic. |

The male vet, Dr. B.H., is the husband of the fabulous female vet, Dr. C. Buller. The problem is that Dr. Buller is not there as often as her husband. He is the 'one to avoid' that the others are talking about. He will tell you that your pet needs something that is definitely not required. His entire focus is on extracting as much money from you as possible. If you could guarantee only seeing Dr. Buller or Dr. Morin your animal would be getting excellent care. Unfortunately there is no way to ensure that. Watch out before taking your pet to this clinic. |

Dr. Sonia Morin is a friend and colleague. I am impressed with her knowledge and professionalism. Dr. Natalie Rosimund is a super fantastic young vet with an interest and a genuine talent in pocket pet medicine. Dr. Catherine Buller is one of the most fantastic surgeons I have ever encountered and has a real way with birds too. All of them are fantastic small animal vets i.e. dogs and cats. If your pet has cancer... Dr. Buller and Dr. Morin have made a specialty out of oncology. Neither are board certified but if you are looking for something a little less expensive than a boarded vet, use these guys. The male vet at this clinic thinks he is an orthopedic surgeon. He could sell ice cream to eskimoes. Uses emotional manipulation to get you to spend money. Don't do it. Stick with the female veterinarians and you can't go wrong. If your pet is in the hospital being cared for, ask who is in charge. Your bill will double if he is in charge. |
