I started going to Dr Petrut after a recommendation of one of his staff. At that time my dog was over 15 and on heart medication. John spent 45 minutes for a consultation and to review her records which I had had sent over from her previous clinic. Her heart medication ended up being $30.00 less than at the previous place. She needed to have some dental care but because of her age, John was able to scrape the worst of the plaque off.When time came for Roz to be euthanized the entire staff was fantastic. I was immediately gathered into a big hug and ushered into one of the rooms. A warm polar fleece blanket was brought in. AS John was consulting with another veterian clinic I did have to wait quite a while, but staff came in to keep me up to date. Of course I was in tears after and John simply put his hand on my shoulder and handed me a box of tissue. I was called a few days later to see how I was doing and also received a sympathy card. Ran out of words. Jjust try this place. |

THE STAFF ARE VERY CARING AND THEY ARE VERY REASONABLE WITH WHAT THEY CHARGE YOU FOR.THEY DON'T TRY TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF YOUR PREDICAMENT. |

IMHO there is more to a good family vet than cheap surgery prices. That said I found prices a bit higher than other places for vaccines and normal things. Dr. Finiak knowledgeable and kindly listened to me, however both appts I had were interrupted by not what I would consider emergency situations. I was somewhat unhappy that it seemed matter of course that "the Dr would prob forget to tell anyone how the surgery went" so it was up to me to call to see how things were. I felt like a nuisance calling .Also would hv preferred to have seen a Dr or Dr. Asst to go over prescriptions and home care but they were all "busy with clients". This is what I'm paying my hard earned money for. Apparently they don't get that concept. More interruptions occurred while I was trying to pay my bill and take my dog home. Customer service very lacking. Seemed like an irritating madhouse of confusion and disorder. Fell far below my expectations |

I have been taking my Cat and Dog to another vet clinic in West Edmonton for the past 12 years. Recently my Dog damaged his right eye causing a Cornea Edema. With nothing being done to help I decided to seek a second opinion, and I am so grateful I did. After seeing the high ratings at Park West on this website, I decided to book 'Harley' in to see Dr. Petrut. They got him in the same afternoon, assessed his eye and was able to inform me of what NEEDS to be done. Dr. Petrut was honest, compassionate, and very informative, he's a genuine person with a HUGE heart for animals. Everyone at Park West has already gone over and above for my pet....far beyond any other vet clinic. He also took our families financial needs into consideration, ensuring the best price in the city. I am very happy to say Dr. Petrut and his team at Park West are now apart of our family, we are so happy we found you! Harley is now booked to get his surgery and finally on the path to recovery. We have 3 dogs & they are like our kids to us. We were referred by a very good friend, to try Parkwest Vet Clinic. Since our first visit, I was extremely impressed with the level of care, concern, & knowledge displayed. I have visited many times for various reasons and find that whether you are getting doggie dental work done, or just a routine check up and vaccinations, the level of professionalism is top notch, and the true concern for your pet's welfare is evident. As far as cost, I am pleased to say that the costs that i have incurred here have been significantly less than I have paid for vet care in the past. They don't nickle and dime you for every follow up after a procedure, or if you have questions or concerns. I have referred a number of my friends and family here & would not hesitate to send someone to see Dr. Petrut and his wonderful staff. I am impressed with this clinic each time i have to deal with them! So glad to have them as our family's Vet! |

Dr. Petrut is fantastic and really cares about animals. He performed a miracle surgery on my dog at 1/3rd the price. |

I cannot say enough Thanks to Dr. Petrut and Staff. He helped my beagle Sheba though one surgery of bilateral knees and even came with me to see the specialist for another surgery. Dr. Petrut and his staff care about the animals and their families. Thanks again Dr. Petrut for everything. |

No one beats Dr. Petrut and his team. They go above and beyond every time, they take the time to explain in laymans terms exactly what is wrong and the various treatments and they always start with the most cost effective option. They do not do any unnecessary testing or testing that they feel is just a waste of money when there are just as effective treatments available that are a fraction of the cost. When I moved to this city a couple of years ago I choose them based on the location to my home and I've never regretted that decision. Their entire team are incredible and a big kudos to all of them. I would highly recommend them to anyone that I know that has pets. |

The staff at Park West Pet Clinic consistently demonstrate a caring and compassionate environment for both pets and their owners.
It was shortly after we purchased our Maltese pup Momo, that he began to limp and yelp in pain whenever we tried to pick him up. Without Dr. Petrut's incredible insight for making an accurate diagnosis of "Legg-Calve-Perthes disease, Momo might still be in pain today. Dr. Petrut quickly saw on an x-ray that Momo was suffering from a degenerative deformity of the femoral head (a wasting of the bone at the hip joint). After explaining in great detail the operation to be considered, we without hesitation followed Dr. Petrut's wise advice!
Just a few short months have passed and today Momo is like any other one year old puppy. He now loves to run, play and most of all be cuddled! We owe a great deal of gratitude to Dr. Petrut and his staff for giving our dog Momo the ability to walk again and for giving us a dog to love for years to come! |

I can not say enough good about Parkwest pet clinic in Edmonton not only have they quoted me close to 700$ less than my previous vet, they didnt charge me anything to have my dogs tooth looked at and to give me a quote.
Then today when I call to see when they have openings the receptionist offers to pick up my dog and then drive him home after cause she knew I didnt drive.

My dog was very recently attacked by another dog I was puppysitting. This dog was relentless and ripped my dog's throat wide open. I immediately took him to emergency and paid an insane amount for a few stitches and drain tubes. On Monday, (this happened on a Friday night), I took my dog to my vet in the city and they wanted $2000 up front to start the surgery. I didn't have that kind of money on hand so I made a few phone calls and was advised to go see Dr. Petrut at Park West. I took Badger to Park West immediately after the quote I recieved at my other vet and Dr. Petrut examined him as soon as I got there then booked him in for surgery the next morning. Surgery went absolutely great and was done at a fraction of the price the other clinic was going to charge me. Badger is now healing and is expected to make a full recovery. He is the happiest dog ever thanks to Dr.Petrut and his colleagues and the rest of the staff at Park West who cared for my Badger! We are forever grateful! |

My dog was recently injured on a friends farm, he was kicked by a horse and it broke his femur in two. This happened just the past weekend, Dr. Petrut took him in and preformed the surgery even tho he had a completely full schedule. My dog required a pin, plate, 7 screws and wire to repair the damage. I truly believe that he does this not for the money but because he loves animals, he's an amazing vet and caring person. I would recommend him to everyone I know who has animals. Thank you again Dr. Petrut! |

My dog needed cruciate legiment surgery on both legs, and I had went to Dr. Petrut after being told it would cost me $4000 per leg and had to be done by a specialist. He did a wonderful job for a quarter of the cost! We knew exactly what he was doing with her all the time because nothing is done 'behind a curtain' there. He personally called us regularly to see how she was doing after the surgery because he cared about my dog and not the money. I felt like he honestly loved my dog! Highly, highly, highly recommend!!! |

Our dog recently got hit by a car. We took him to the emergency clinic downtown and found out the our dog had 3 pelvic fractures and pneumothorax. After spending 12 hours there, we decided to take our dog to another vet, Dr. Petrut. He was amazing. He explained exactly what was wrong, the complications that could arise and our options for treatment. As it turned out, our dog needed surgery to repair the 5 fractures on his pelvis. Dr. Petrut came in on a holiday and preformed the surgery. Our dog has only been home for a couple days now but he's doing well. Thanks Dr. Petrut :) |

Dr Petrut is an excellent vet who, if he does not know what the problem is with your pet will do research until he finds out.He takes on surgeries when no one else will.Price wise he is the best in the city.He does very thorough exams which I can not stress enough the importance of!From teeth to tail and the heart in between!He also takes care of dogs and other animals.His associate Dr.Lenard is also very good. |
