Sometimes it takes a real person with common sense to find the obvious and to have the ability to state how things are in a difficult situations. Dr. Maddox was consulted about my cat Mugsy who is a Persion and 13 years old. He had been loosing weight for 3 months without obvious problem. I consulted 2 other Vets who drew labs, and "observed" Mugsy. A total of 5 vet visits to other vets found no answer. Dr. Maddox laided it on the line when she said I could do 2 things: I could bury Mugs or I could go all out and find out what was going on. The light bulb came on in my head - how right she was. She suggested X-rays and possibly an exploritory surgery. She was not available at that time to do this so another wonderful Vet was recomended. Dr. Laurie Wiser did the surgery after rehydrating Mugsy and giving him some abx. The wonderful news is that he does not have cancer but a treatable inflamitory bowel disease. THANKS TO BOTH OF YOU I still have my beloved cat. |
