Click to report rating    9/27/12   1     1     1     1   My mothers Yorkie is now in Heaven. I would like to thank this vet for sending him there so quickly. We told him our dog had congestive heart failure. He did extensive testing refered us to Maryland and prescribed an antibiotic for his teath. A fluid pill and Vetmeine were requested. He refused very rudely. With a Heart attack would you visit the dentist. We were grossly overcharged. I will be reporting him to the board of vet medicine' If you love your Pet and you wallet, Please go see another vet. RID: 37467

Click to report rating    8/5/12   4     4     3     2   The doctor here is rude, does not want to take the time to explain anything to you, and does not seem to care. I have no idea how he stays in business with this attitude and type of care. I went here once and never came back. Even though I live right around the corner, I drive to Palmyra Animal Clinic instead. I have been VERY happy there. If you care about and love your pets DO NOT go to this place! RID: 36281

Click to report rating    6/14/11   5     5     5     5   Kevin and his staff are wonderful. Kevin as well as his staff continually go above and beyond with regard to treatment for my cat, Trey Travis Meowington. I feel fortunate to have found such a great doctor who takes care of my pet as much as I do!! RID: 25601

Click to report rating    5/26/11   5     5     5     5   I had been to three different vets in my dogs short life and found Kevin to be the most amazing person out there. I woke up with my dog partially paralyzed one day. I went to my normal vet and they just said my dogs back was hurt and that I needed to decide in 15 minute before they closed to either put him to sleep or give him an $8,000 surgery without explaination of his condition. I was a mess!! He was my little 3 year old puppy and was lost. I asked for pain meds and took him home. I was refered to Kevin. He took him in right away told me the disease my dog had, put me on a med and rehab plan. I also was referred to a support group. Kevin called me twice and day and saw my dog once a week for 2 months and didn't charge me once. My dog then walked again. My dog relapsed which is normal with this disease. I need to let my dog go. Kevin was very sensitive and helpful. That man lives at that place and makes it his life. RID: 25253

3/14/10   1     4     2     1   Schengrund basically tortured my pet & used profanity in front of my child. He said my pet likely had cancer & when I came back weeks later to see whether it was time to euthanize, he suggested an aspiration to see whether it was an abscess instead. After, she was obviously in extreme pain & he plopped her in her cage and seemed not to care at all about her pain, saying "I was trying to help her live longer. Would you want to die?" etc. We were upset, so he said "I just can't win with you people" (because our other pet [mouse]died after we gave her Frontline @ his direction). My child was crying & he said "With all this reactivity, it's hard to discuss this." I said I was hoping for guidance & he said "I don't do that. That's a personal decision. You have to do that." I asked about her prospects; he said "She could be dying right now. She could die tonight. She could die in your hands." I was traumatized. His office's nice, but don't be fooled by it; he seems not to care about animals. RID: 17052

Click to report rating    7/26/09   3     4     4     2   I have only been to this vet twice now at the recommendation of a co-worker. At first I was very pleased with the cleanliness and set-up of the office. I had brought my two cats in for routine check-ups and the required rabies shots. One of my cats had been having a problem scratching her ears so I told the Doctor and without even looking into her ear with a scope he immediately said she had ear mites...although there were no other signs besides the itchiness and my other cat wasn't even affected (ear mites are REALLY "contagious" between animals). He sent me off $270 later with ear mite meds for BOTH cats and a follow-up in two weeks. I went to the follow-up appt. today with no visible improvement in my cat's ears and he gives her a steroid and a very potent antibiotic which I was to give her twice a day for two weeks. I read up on the med (Baytril) and found it may cause blindness and is used as more of a last resort in most cases! $86 later I am wondering how this guy has any client RID: 13619

Click to report rating    3/8/09   1     2     2     1   We took our dog in after he had a seizure. We saw Kevin & he did thorough testing but his bedside manner is HORRIBLE!He told us sometimes dogs have them once or they have several a day and are not controlled with medication & then you're just "f---ed".Ive never in my life had a doctor use the f word in front of me.He also asked me if my dog had the "s--ts" one night I found a wounded rabbit in my yard & knew he states at his office late so I called to get an idea of what to do.He told me to "put it in a box & call the humane society in the morning".I ended up calling another local vet who met me at his office & took the rabbit & had someone from a wildlife rehab center pick it up.I now take my dog there.I had a friend find a dog that had a Hershey Vet Hospital tag on it.They called the office and kevin answered & told them to call back in the morning.Meanwhile they went back & found the owners who were distraught.he's supposed to care about animals but wouldn't look up the owners name? Click to report rating    12/11/07   1     4     4     1   If you think you vet should be knowledgeable and helpful don’t take your pet to this facility! We learned our beloved pet is terminally ill. At a time when we needed guidance Dr. Schengrund chose to write us off. He did not like the fact that we went against his recommendations of taking our pet to a facility in MD (all in all a 4 hour trip to and from home) for regular treatments. I contacted him personally to explain our decision and thank him for his time. In return he was rude, condescending and ultimately hung up on me. Honestly I am still shocked over this matter. We found a facility much closer to home and are quit pleased we took matters into our own hands. I am not the type to go out of my way to complain however felt it my duty to warn other pet owners so they might avoid a similar experience. RID: 6648
