have been bringing my dog to Brookeside for five years, willlingly and happily driving across town to get what I consider excellent service. I tried three other vet clinics in Ann Arbor before finding Brookeside, so I have a good idea about the competition and I would recommend Brookeside, without hesitation, to anyone.
The review by "Bryan S." is not only unbelievable, it's also deeply offensive. Dr. Rozyczko is the definition of a straight arrow: a great guy, easy to talk to, sympathetic, thorough, and COMPLETELY TRUSTWORTHY. Dr. Nancy Smaltz is also wonderful:
sharp, very experienced, and also completely trustworthy. The accusations of price-gouging are ridiculous. Treatment options and fees are always discussed in an open-- and completely open-ended--way, i.e. no pressure, and are competitive. In addition, Nancy Jennings is without question THE BEST groomer in town. |

Please Beware. This vet seems far more interested in how much money they can possibly make, and what they can possibly bill you for, than they are in the health, well-being, and comfort of your pet. And when unnecessary procedures are ordered, or when unnecessary prescriptions are prescribed, you as owner, are price gouged and nickel and dimed to death, all for procedures and medications that ultimately do nothing for the health and comfort of your pet. I guess it's expensive maintaining that horse farm of theirs. |

I don't mind taking my dogs to a farm house clinic, but the place is always filthy. every surface has slobber, dirt and hair stuck to it. On our first visit, after waiting in the parking lot for two hours (they had an Emergency) they wouldn't allow me to go back with my puppies for a routine check up and puppy shots. I couldn't help but wonder if they really did get the shots or if they just took them in the back, came out and handed me a bill. They are affordable for routine check ups and shots, but when an emergency came up that required a few stitches, bandage and a cone (during business hours even), there's no way to justify the $700 bill, no matter how much they tried to explain $40 for gauze and $25 for the application of the gauze! I have always made appointments in advance and each visit has left us waiting at least an hour before seeing anyone. One Vet and the guy at the counter gives me the creeps. When I ask questions about testing and bills, they dance around the answers. |
