Click to report rating    1/29/13   1     3     1     1   My dog has been a patient of Dr. Weldy for 5 years. We have spent a huge amount of time and money with him and in his office. While he is an outstanding Dr, they were NOT there for us twice when we had an emergency. His office manager, Renee has zero empathy for sick dogs and upset owners. I KNOW they could have squeezed us in as the receiptionist told us they could, but I needed to talk with Renee. She refused, I think she did not want to go home past her work shift or something! I believe you know the "good" from the "bad" when you are in a time of need...serious need! My dog ended up with a double ear infecction and colonitis. She was treated at Trinity Animal Hospital and the Dr and staff were outstanding! They stayed with me and my dog until 8:00 and made sure she was okay to take home! Dr. Weldy lost a patient, not that he cares. BUT the good news is we found a new Dr who truly loves my dog!! RID: 40012

11/4/12   5     5     5     4   Dr. Weldy and Dr. Krause have always taken GREAT care of my 2 dogs. My older dog has many "issues" and has been to the Dr many many times! They are honest, thorough, and compassionate. I am a pretty new pet mama, so they help me understand what is going on and don't mind stupid questions. I KNOW FOR SURE that all of the vets in this clinic are there because they love animals. I have also been to the Bird of Prey Center and it is magnificent!! Dr. Weldy gives a huge amount of time to rescuing wild birds and returning to the wild! I am thankful for Drs Weldy and Krause...and so are my Molly and Chloe!! RID: 38269

9/12/12   1     3     2     2   I have only been to this clinic twice, and I did not have a good outcome for my pet. I don't believe that anyone could have saved my pet, so I try not to let that color my opinion. Based on my lay-person's instincts, I think the vets know what they are doing. The prices seemed extremely high, but maybe that is the going rate. My major turn-off was with the front-office staff, who all appear to be young and untrained. Inexplicably, most of them seem to have unusually high-pitched voices. I believe that there is an inverse relationship between the pitch of the voice and the IQ of the speaker. One particularly obnoxious and possibly retarded individual demanded immediate payment after I had just been told that my beloved pet had died. I complained to the vet, who said that she would speak to this person about her rudeness; however, she also defended this individual and I got the impression that I was being blamed for being upset with a horrible bimbo who was way out of line. Click to report rating    5/4/12   5     5     5     5   Dr. Weldy was recommended to me in 1989 by the local vet for care of our turtle. Since then, our family has taken our animals to no one but him. His clinical judgement is first rate, he works within our budget never making our family feel guilty if we cannot afford a test. He has taken care of cats, dogs, turtles and sick birds over the years. Right now, we are dealing with a cat eye issue. We will have to put the cat down, as we cannot afford, nor do we want to put her through difficult surgery. Not yet, but eventually. I would recommend Dr. Weldy to anyone who needs a vet who respects the decisions made by owners. Dr. Weldy did make fun of our little terrier, which was always funny, and we laughed everytime! I don't care if scrawny dogs are his fav! He's honest, he's funny, and he is humane to both humans and their beloved pets. And he's at the top of his field. RID: 34000

Click to report rating    8/30/11   5     5     5     5   I am reading the message that says Dr Weldy hates rabbits and their owners. My experience has been the opposite. I owned two bunnies, that have been used in film productions, which he saw on a regular basis. At one time someone was poisoning animals in our neighborhood (Canyons) and it was Dr. Weldy who knew what to do to save their lives!! Had I not brought them to him and received the care they did, they would have died like the 9 other animals our neighbors lost. I have also attended Dr Weldy's birds of prey programs to see that they not only rescue birds but many other wild animals. They do not feed the animals any domesticated species. That is completely ludacris! I also do rescue work with various animal species and as with anything you do have to remember there is a food chain! RID: 27249

Click to report rating    6/29/11   5     5     4     5   I brought in my leopard gecko to be checked over because she was losing weight. The staff here and Dr. Weldy were very helpful. Facilities are clean and look nice. There was a bit of a wait passed the appointment time, but not too long. Dr. Weldy was very knowledgeable about the geckos, has been a great help and shows a real care for the animals he works with. RID: 25903

5/24/11   2     2     1     1   Dr. Weldy hate Rabbits and their owners. Dr Weldy killed one of our most beloved bunnies due to faulty-tied internal sutures after a routine surgery. The bunny died a very slow, extremely painful death while Dr. Weldy ignored our pleas for further help to save it. A post death exam that same day from another Vet in the area proved that Dr. Weldy was totally at fault. Then, to add insult to injury, Dr. Weldy sent us to collections which resulted in constant harassment and extreme stress on our entire family from the debt collectors for months & months. We finally paid off the huge bill(over $2,000) but only after our bunny died and only after Dr. Weldy and his evil crownies bullied us into the ground. Dr. Scott Weldy feeds baby bunnies to his Birds of Prey so I highly suggest you never take your bunny to him. He is a money hungry, greedy fool who only cares about his own personal stardom and his own well-being. RID: 25199

Click to report rating    1/4/11   5     3     1     1   Expennsive.. Wait times are horrible. Sit in waiting room for a long time.. Sometimes Dr. Weldy is patient and sits and talks, this last time he actually told me he was "busy" and had to leave.. RID: 21778

Click to report rating    10/26/10   5     5     5     5   I cannot believe the dedication Dr. Weldy has for his patients! I've known him for years and he's been my veterinarian for all my dogs. Once such incident occurred when my dog was suffering from seizures. He actually took my dog home to watch him overnight, sleeping on his kitchen floor next to him. It breaks my heart to hear people bad-mouth him when he sacrafices so much for his patient's care. RID: 20501

Click to report rating    2/28/10   5     5     5     5   I've Dr Weldy for more than 20 years. I met him when my iguana had an unfortunate accident & snapped it's tail. (almost completely off & the tendons were sticking out) Dr Weldy came to my work place on his day off, stiched the tail back together@ no charge. He is truly in it for the animals! RID: 16813

Click to report rating    2/2/10   3     3     5     4   I have had one beloved dog (Kona, rottie) put to sleep by Dr. Weldy and I can assure you, his heart is 100% for taking care of the animal. He was absolutely wonderful and I can not say enough about Dr. Weldy and the care that he gave us for her entire life. Just recently, we had to take our new Roxy who is also a rottie back in because of a bladder infection. She ended up having to have surgery and Dr. Fisher removed at least 4 HUGE stones that were in her bladder. Roxy is back to normal and all healed thanks to the wonderful work of this office. We are very careful in spending unneccesary money and although the bills have been high (Roxy also had her knee done) they also gave us wonderful care. I would trust my animals 100% with both dr.'s and would not think twice of taking them here. I recommend to everyone! RID: 16422

Click to report rating    6/7/09   1     3     2     1   Dr. Weldy was the worst veterinarian i've ever taken my rabbit to. I'm with a rescue group, so have seen many vets in my life. His "bedside manner" was terrible, and he treated me and my animal like we were in a cattle line, and i spent over $500 for nothing. Go elsewhere! RID: 13087

Click to report rating    4/27/09   2     3     2     2   Dr Weldy is very good at what he does, and has been good with my cart,it is such a pity that his staff and front office are not that caring, and do not make you feel comfortable. I go back because of him, but always leave feeling like I need to find someone new. RID: 12589

Click to report rating    3/30/09   3     2     4     2   Drs. Weldy and Fisher are good vets, but care is compromised by their congested, busy and poorly managed practice. Fees are high end, and you are often not provided with a quote before your pet is wisked into the back office for a procedure. Front office is poorly managed and often uncomfortably crowded. Be prepared to wait at the front desk when you are ready to leave while they juggle ringing phones, calls on hold, clients waiting to see the vet, and other clients waiting for discharge instructions, medications, or to have their bill summarized so they can pay and leave. Click to report rating    3/9/09   5     4     5     5   Dr. Weldy and his Medical team are dedicated, kind and extremely good at what they do. They have saved the lives of a couple of our exotic reptiles over the past 10 years. I would highly recommend them. Dr. Weldy is compassionate toward his patients, both 4 and 2 legged! RID: 12032

Click to report rating    7/4/08   5     5     5     5   We own a 41 lb sulcata tortoise. He was run over by a 5 ton truck that crushed the front part and underside of his shell. We live in San Bernardino Co. & called approx. 15-20 local vets to get treatment for our turtle. Outside of the SD Zoo, there is no one in with the qualifications & experience to make the repairs or turtle required. Dr. Fisher of his staff met with us, explained the extent of the damages, and assured us that they would do their best. That was on Sat. morning. Surgery was done Mon. morning and we picked him up Tues. afternoon. He still has a long way to go to reccover, but he would not have had a chance if not for Dr. Weldy, Dr. Fisher and their staff. There is no one better when it comes to herpetology and the treatment of exotic animals. Their staff is caring and patient and take the time with you that you need, especially since we had no prior experience with turtles, let alone dealing with the extensive injuries ours had. They are no question the best. RID: 9162

Click to report rating    3/20/08   2     3     2     1   Very uncaring doctors(Dr. Weldy mostly) that took advantage of the situation. They quoted me a price, and when i returned it had doubled, and i did not authorize the treatment that he proposed. They would not let me talk to them regarding the obscene bill, and treated me as if it was a conveyer belt of animals coming in, and mine was just another on the line. Do not reccomend him at all, and plan to lodge a complaint with the Veterinary Board. People should not be taken advantage of because they simply love their pets. RID: 7778

Click to report rating    2/24/08   3     4     3     2   I had a horrible experience with Dr. Weldy when taking my rabbit in for her illness. He was rude, has NO bedside manner what-so-ever, and completely nickeled and dimed me on the bill for everything he could when i wanted to take her to another doctor for a second opinion. It turns out he was wrong on his diagnosis, but i am stil stuck with the ridiculous bill and an overall bad experience. RID: 7534
