Very compassionate veterinarians. One of them even came to my home when my kitty had to be euthanized.

After surgery bone fragments were left in the paws and so far we are on our third surgery to help our little kitty. They refuse to take responisbilty of a rushed surgery (after reading up on this most vets rush to get in more client for more money) and in doing so they leave behind bone fragments. we have ceased going there and am taking out loans to get our little guy right again.

I am delighted with this vet practice. I have been using them since 2006 and they have always been professional and knowledgeable. Dr. Joe Grohs has always taken extra time to be sure that I understand the diagnosis for my dogs and I appreciate that. Fees are modest and service is great. I would definitely recommend this hospital.

By far the best equine vets in Alaska. Dr. Pittman is great. He is polite, very knowledgeable, and has always been right there in an emergency. their prices have been right there with the estimates from other vets. Office staff has been professional and curteous.

I love Dr. Pittman & his wife Kelli. They are new to the practice and have been ever so helpful regarding my horses. I am new horse owner with LOTS of questions. The staff was kind, prompt and personable. I love Natalie & Patrise too, plus I use Erik Groh's, the Groh's son to care for my farrier needs. He is patient and great with my naughty quarter horse. I can't say anything bad about these people who LOVE ANIMALS.

I have found the staff very pleasant but I have had a hard time getting information from them. That is not always their fault but the fault of their employers. Most of the time I have used this clinic I have had to wait; once it was almost an hour. One of the "big names" came in and I was bumped from my appointment. This clinic is unnecessarily expensive. For example: a health certificate in the lower 48 is around 20.00. That same piece of paper here is 60.00 plus the office charge.

I STRONGLY appreciate Dr. Grohs ability to work with purebred fanciers and breeders. This is an art to which most Dr.'s don't care to learn, and I would like to commend Dr. Grohs for his tolerance towards a group of people who are rarely tolerated elsewhere. Purebred fanciers and breeders are more likely to spend the extra dollar-and while they can be demanding and google educated, they really just want the best for their next champion. Reading the postings suggest that AESAH is on the low end of customer care by the support staff, I would consider this feedback and suggest it to the fabulous doctors as their staff should be nothing less than what they are.

Best equiped equine and well equiped small animal hospital in the state. Julie Grohs specializes in equine and lameness issues, has even presented at national DVM seminars on her work. John ed is dog vet supreme. Dr Joe is a perfectionist and delights in patient owner education. He will a lot of personal time to make sure you understand everything you need to know for your animal and why. The also pull their own call, which is great for consistancy of care. Will do in home euth for small pets, which I really appreciated when I had to have my dog put to sleep.

Expensive for small livestock. They need to remember these are livestock. Not happy with floating of teeth on my horse. Need an equine dentist in the state. office staff always rude, especially the younger ones. Vets themselves are VERY professional, and knowledgable, but they are doing their practice a disservice by using such ill tempered staff.

I don't think all of the staff is professional. The people that answer the phone are quite rude at times and even though Dr's go to ongoing education, they have a long way to go to catch up to the equine vets in other states. One thing that bothers me most is that they are very much against using an equine dentist. The only reason I can think of is it takes money out of there pockets. Using and equine dentist is no different than a human using a dentist instead of an emergency room doctor for dental care. I have also found that unless you are a "big name" its difficult to get in to see Julie or have someone come out for an emergency.

EXCELLENT veterinarians and facility! Dr. Julie Grohs specializes in equine nutrition and lameness. Dr. Joe Grohs is a master of all trades with extreme know-how for all small and large animals and a top-notch caring attitude. He cares more about helping your animal than sticking to a clock or being "always right" or lining his pockets. Dr. John-Ed Brown is a great all-around vet and one of only a few in the state that will care for goats. Together these three make a reliable, winning team to provide the best available care for your animals. Their staff has undergone some recent changes for the better and the technicians and front desk staff are helpful and friendly. There is no better than AESAH when it comes to small and large animal care in Alaska. I trust no one else as much!

Wish I could find a doctor who would explain my xrays as well as Joe Grohs. He and John Edd are both excellent, caring vets with dogs, which are our animals. They will come out whenever you need them. We've been going there for something like twenty years.

This clinic and its staff have wonderful customer service and exceptional veterinary skills with the animals they treat. They are more interested in healing, not in making money. They are open to opinions and will work with their clients. The vets here are always trying to expand their knowledge and increase their efficiency and effectiveness. I wouldn't trade them for any other.

top of the line facility, best horse care in the south central area; in fact, the only ones I trust with my horses.
