I purchased pet insurance for my German Shepard, when I went in Pamela Orear really laid on her recommendations for -Shorts, Surgeries, X-rays for Hip Dysplasia (b/c dog was in pain or so she said). Embrace Pet Insurance then said based on her recommendations I would need additional X-rays to clear him of Hip Dysplasia. The 2nd Vet I went to said that this practice (saying a dog is unhealthy to order additional tests) is common with Vets when they deal with Pet Insurace Carriers. As a result, I'm out of pocket 200 bucks for Xrays I didnt need but had to get due to Pamela Orear "padding" her assessment with unnecessary tests. I also took my dog to Heidleberg German Shepards (his breeder) with the Vet Report and newly paid for X-rays, paid to get my dog examined for a 3rd time, and was told that Pamela Oreas report was "overkill" was medically unjustified based on the X-rays. In either case, now I'm SCREWED on the Hip Dysplasia clause on my insurance policy.
