Click to report rating    12/19/15 We've known Dr. Gignac since he started working at this clinic, providing excellent care for our bouvier Maggie. She lived to 14 years and when it became hard to get her to the clinic, he saw her in our home. We now have another bouvier, Princess, 7 years old, who has been getting excellent routine care at the clinic. When I took her in 2 days ago for a routine check up, thinking the twice-a-year "senior" care was a waste of time, since she seemed perfectly fine, Drs. Gignac and Fromstein found a mass in her abdomen which was quite large. Seeing how distraught I was, they scheduled the surgery for the next day, reorganizing their schedule to accommodate us. During the surgery, Dr. Fromstein called me several times just to reassure me that everything was under control. We picked her up last night and today she's almost back to normal. Their excellent care and compassion cannot be overstated. Their fees are substantial but well deserved. Highly recommended. RID: 59300
Click to report rating    8/15/15 I am writing this review because a few days ago I purchased a new cat , it was a homeless cat sponsored by Humane Society . I spotted her while at the pet store , sitting sad in her cage waiting to be adopted .It was truly love at first sight . Three months later , the cat was still there. So , I decide to take her. Tootsie the cat which I renamed Tooka - was absolutely wonderful . I was thrilled to have her. However A few days later my beloved cat one morning was not well . She was lifeless . No movement ,no eating . Frantic , I called Yorkville Animal Hospital expressed my concerns and right away they booked me in. The staff went out of their way to help me . My vet that day was Justin ( can't spell his last name ) he looked over Tooka ( my cat ) and recommended options .Given I just got the cat , he also contacted the primary vet with the Humane Society who cleared her ( by the way , a wonderful vet and amazing lady ) all I can say is Justin ( vet ) took the time to make the calls RID: 58055
Click to report rating    5/1/15 We had a difficult cat and found the vet to be lacking compassion and impatient ("hush up!") On one occasion, our cat was returned to us absolutely covered in feces: we were stunned at this. Receptionist was consistently arrogant. We moved to another vet nearby where our cat was treated with patience and respect. A very unpleasant experience at Yorkville Animal Hospital. RID: 56877
Click to report rating    10/7/13 My dog Cody, a chinese crested, has been seeing Dr. Gignac for more than 6 years. We've had great service and care from Dr. Gignac and his staff. Last summer Cody had a lump on his back. Dr. Gignac determined it wasa tumor and we had it surgically removed from his back. Surgery was extensive and Cody had some difficulty recuperating. He was in a lot of pain, couldn't eat or drink, and needed to be held continually. During this time I was anxious and contacted Dr. Gignac and staff several times. They were attentive, patient, and Dr. Gignac alleviated my concerns each time we spoke. Cody is now tumor-free and doing extremely well. Dr. Gignac and Yorkville Animal Clinic provide excellent service to pets and pet-owners. We are extremely pleased to have them in our neighbourhood. RID: 47467
Click to report rating    10/7/13 Over the years, I've been to many vet clinics and the Yorkville Hosp. is right at the top. Everyone here has always impressed me as friendly, knowledgeable and dedicated to animal care. Dr. Gignac has been my cats' primary vet for more than a decade now. My older cat, now 15, had surgery last year with follow-up appointments, yet she's less nervous about clinic visits than she was in her younger years. My cats have always received excellent care here, while I get patient answers to my many questions. This hospital also aids homeless cats for rescue groups, fostering and adopting out stray mothers and their kittens. Your pets are in good hands here. RID: 47459
Click to report rating    7/4/13 Alan and the staff have been looking after our pets for many years.they give excellent care. Our dog is elderly and suffers from arthritis, Alan treated, evaluated and searched for the solutions that have transformed our dog. I cannot say enough- these guys really care. RID: 43468

Click to report rating    5/16/13 Have been using Yorkville Animal Hospital for many years and love the staff dearly. Vet and office staff are friendly and helpful. Facility is clean and well maintained; Dr Gignac is punctual, has Saturday appointments. My only complaint is there's limited (and sometimes tricky) parking. RID: 42539
Click to report rating    4/29/13 Dr. Gignac and staff have been our cat Toby's veterinary team since we adopted him close to 7 years ago. Toby is our first pet, and thanks to the Yorkville Animal Hospital's advice and treatment (food, weight, dental care) he is a happy, thriving (close to) 12-year old kitty. RID: 42155
Click to report rating    4/24/13 The care given by the staff at Yorkville Animal Hospital is 'beyond' outstanding. Dr. Gignac and his team have taken care of my companion animals for many years and I would never go to another Clinic! The staff truly love the animals as if they were their own and are both knowledgeable and patient when answering questions. In addition, if you are asking about a procedure or treatment, Dr. Gignac will tell you immediately if it is NOT necessary! On my recommendation, several of my friends have also taken advantage of their terrific adoption program and have adopted their cats from the clinic. Thanks to Dr. Gignac, Chris, Tiffany and everyone at Yorkville for their amazingly sensitive approach to both the animals AND their human companions. I am SO grateful for the wonderful care you have given my beloved cats over the years! Doreen RID: 42014
Click to report rating    4/22/13 Yorkville is the best! I love Dr. Allen and the staff is always super to me and my Charlie. I would never go anywhere else and tell all my friends to go there. RID: 41963
Click to report rating    12/4/12 So glad I checked them out for my self. I've gone in a few times to investigate them since my puppy is due for next booster soon. I prefer dealing with the young lady than the gentleman receptionist. He doent seem to want to give you anymore information then he has to,like he has more important things to do. She will actually stop what she's doing and come over and interact with you. She's absolutly adorable and obviously loves what she does. I've never gone in clinic and seen it dirty infact its always neat and tidy and I imagine that's hard with kittens in a cage. I wouldn't avoid this clinic because of one bad apple. I will be booking my booster (in the morning with her) and look forward to many more knowledgable convos! RID: 38868
Click to report rating    11/20/12 The staff especially the receptionist is very rude and unwilling to help in any situation. The clinic is old and dirty. The doctors are imcompitent and like to overprescribe medications that almost killed my dog. I do not recommend this clinic to anyone and would seriously recommend an investigation into their treatment and handling of patients. One expects a veterinary clinic to be compassionate and pleasant...not the case here. They are money grabbing idiots. RID: 38603
Click to report rating    12/21/11 I just started coming to Yorkville with my new puppy, and I couldn't be happier. The staff and doctors are wonderful and take time to answer all of my questions - and I have a LOT. I've been telling all my friends that they should come here! RID: 30004
Click to report rating    12/16/11 Wonderful clinic and all the staff are incredibly friendly. RID: 29910
Click to report rating    12/8/11 Great clinic, the doctor is very knowledgeable and the staff is very nice. They rescue kittens and work with a cat rescue to help spay and neuter strays. Highly recommended. RID: 29702
Click to report rating    12/5/11 I rescued a cat and brought it to this clinic to be assessed and helped after discovering this cat was pregnant. This vet assitsted her in the delivery which was great however after reviewing the comments the dr himself had written about my new pet I has noticed he had written reports on this cat using inappropriate vocabulary such as "stupid cat" and "no more dead babies for this cat" he stated this comments after unfortunately delivering her kittens that were still born:( unfortunately for this Dr. I will be filing a complaint to the veterinarian board regarding his unethical behavior so he can assess his professionalism as a dr. and behave in a kinder way towards all animals. RID: 29614
Click to report rating    5/11/11 Most unfriendly people I have ever met. They did notmake you feel comfortable or welcome RID: 24951

10/28/07 The staff and vet here are so wonderful - my pet and I both love coming in for our visits. Things may cost alot, but the value I get is tremendous, and when I phoned around, the other clinics in the area were all pretty comparable in price. The vet really knows what he is talking about, and takes the time to explain it to me. He always offers me what he feels is the very best option for my pet - sometimes I can't afford it (it's been a tough year), but he never makes me feel guilty, and works with me to come up with some other alternatives that might not be as ideal, but that will work within my budget. I also like them because they do charity work, and take in dogs temporarily for abused women that go to shelters until they can find permanent housing, not to mention all of the beautiful stray kittens they take in, vaccinate, adopt out and find homes for. Great clinic - great staff. Highly recommended! RID: 6274
Click to report rating    5/23/07 I was visiting my family in Toronto recently, and my little dog became very sick. The vet and staff at Yorkville saw me right away, and were absolutely wonderful. The doctor was very good, and took the time to explain everything to me in detail so that I could understand. The staff was very friendly, and made me feel welcome and at ease, despite being so worried. They did some tests and found the problem right away. My dog is now on medication, and is feeling better than he has in a long time, thanks to the great care he received. I wish my vet clinic here was so good! RID: 4082
