We recently moved to Huntington Lane , just steps away from Huntington Animal Hospital . My Border Collie Scout was showing signs of distress and clearly in pain . I took Scout into Huntington Animal Hospital . I was asked if my dog had a regular vet ? I answered yes in Stoney Creek & explained that we had just moved to the area . I was told Scout was not a regular client of the clinic and could not see a vet and they could not give a referral to the local Emergency Clinic . They wouldn't even offer the address of the ER Clinic when asked ? Response was it's near Brock U ? How does a Vet who states they love Animals and give the best care to your family members look at an animal in distress and refuse care? Did Scout's Health Card Expire?

My pets have been going to Huntington Animal Hospital for a very long time. Originally, they saw Dr. Derek, but now they see Dr. Tanya since she took over the business and I can't say one bad thing about her. She's so caring and compassionate and you can tell that she loves her patients. My cats tend to be very finicky and scared around strangers and strange places but when they see her they honestly perk right up. Dr. Tanya is a true animal whisperer.

I moved to St. Catharines around two years ago and have tried a variety of veterinary clinics in the area. I was blown away by the service both myself and my pets received at Huntington. You can tell the staff here are compassionate and genuinely care not only for the animals they see and treat, but for their human parents as well. I am so grateful to have found Dr. Tanya and the rest of the staff at Huntington, thank you!

I was a long time customer with multiple pets. I had one of my dogs checked by Dr. Derek when he was panting a lot, he said he just had allergy, and he prescribed allergy medicine for human. My dog did not take it at all. Since their service was very terrible especially the lady called Dawn, I changed the vet. When the new vet took an x-lay on my dog's chest, he had a big cancer which was developed over years. He was panting a lot because he cannot breath due to the cancer. As a result, I had to let him sleep today. I wish Derek could check my dog more thoroughly and seriously so that I did not have to lose him. Don't take your pets to this clinic if you really love your pets.

This is the best clinic I've been to! Having had pets my entire life, plus now 2 dogs and a cat of my own, I consider myself to have some experience with vet clinics. Huntington is always spotless, the staff go above and beyond every time, it is so welcoming, and I have always felt that they are there to care for animals, not to make money off of caring for animals. The price difference between Huntington and our last clinic is shocking! They are so well priced! I can't say enough about our experiences with Huntington. We love them all and are so happy to have found a clinic that treats our family, 4 legged ones included, like their family!

I always found the staff to be very caring and kind, but when my beloved dog, who was 13 years old, became ill and I had to make the difficult decision to let her go and rest in peace. The staff and doctors at this clinic were very kind, considerate and caring during this difficult time. As anyone knows who has had to make this decision, it is very difficult. My dog and I were treated with the utmost care and kindness. THey explained the process, answered all my questions and after I made the final decision, they assured me it was the right decision. THe doctor stayed with me as my girl left this life, and continued to stay with me until I was comfortable leaving her. I have not yet adopted another pet, but if and when I do, I will be returning to this clinic for all my pet's needs. I later received a letter from them advising them that a monetary donation was made in honour or my dog to the Guelph Veterinary Hospital for research. What a beautiful and kind gesture.

We are new to Huntington Animal Hospital and we are so happy we made the switch from our previous clinic. This clinic is similar in price to our previous clinic, maybe a bit more expensive however it is worth it. For the first time our dog was not afraid to enter the building and he loved Dr. Tanya. The support staff were very friendly, the hospital is clean and they have a wonderful wall filled with pictures of other patients. Dr. Tanya took the time to meet our dog, discuss his likes and dislikes and any concerns we had, she was also very thorough with her exam. We also received a post card in the mail after our visit welcoming us to the hospital. If you are unhappy with the current care your animal is receiving, I recommend you contact this clinic.

I love Dr. Derek. He is amazing at what he does. And Dr. Tanya is also great. Unfortunately, their staff are not so amazing. I have noticed over the past few years constant staff turnover. His current support staff leaves me feeling doubtful of the quality my pets care. Even the staff of a few years ago was better, what ever happened to them (Matt, Robyn, Jessica)? The receptionist is always friendly though and greets me every time I come in!

Dr. Derek has been my vet since 1999. The care that they have shown my dogs at the Huntington Animal Hospital over the years has been amazing. I'm a bit of a worrier when it comes to my babies, and they have always been so good with answering my questions and seeing me quickly when I have had any concerns. They were very kind and compassionate when we lost our beloved Hailey earlier this year. I would 100% recommend Dr. Derek and the Huntington Animal Hospital!!!

Very expensive and staff very unfriendly would not return..... considering we have 3 dogs you would think that they would go out of their way to make you feel more welcome. We have switched vets and we are very happy. I think Dr Z knows his stuff but his staff especially the reception need to be more inviting and perhaps smile....A smile goes a long way.

Dr. Derek and his staff are by far the best vet service I have ever used. Dr. Derek is kind and patient and completly appreciates the importance of a pet in a familys life...which is portrayed in his practice and in the abundance of photos of happy clients and his own beautiful companion...Wrigely...who can at times be found hard at work with Dr. Derek at the clinic. I also have to comment on the how professional and caring all the staff are and I always know that Buster...Mr Deeds...Jax...Slyvester or whoever needs to be seen is in the next best hands to mine....Thank You Huntington Animal Hospital for treating our family like your own.

I was a Customer of Dr. Derek Zakaib for Over 5 years.I was bringing in my 5 Persian Cats. One day he spayed my Colton he was 9 Months Old. Kelsey was his Twin Sister. They both were chinchilla Persians and Pure white. Well, Colton came home after being spayed. 2 days later he had a Stroke and heart attack ! I was HORRIFIED . He was paralyzed- and turned BLUE. I called the Dr. Derek, he told me NOT to bring my cat into him ?? This was completely Crazy . So we had took him to Another Vet. that was closer any how. They did any x-ray and said his Lungs were filling up With fluid ??? They ended up doing an Autopsy- after he had DIED a Short time after. His Lungs filled up with BLOOD- as the Ole Great Dr. Derek did NOT Stitch up my Precious Cat after Neutering Him !!! Dr. Derek Never did give me a Refund - NO. I had incurred a bill Over 1000.00 else where -for the Oxygen,x-ray, euthanasia, cremation, oh yes and Autopsy ! This guy Needs More of the TRUTH out here- Not just how great he is.

Dr. Derrick is a caring vet. Very clean facilities. Prices a bit steep, but all Vet services have gone up lately everywhere. Pet insurance is a good idea these days!
