    | | 2/8/15 | Prepare to be ripped off if you go to this vet. A cat with diarrhea, no fever, and an extremely sore tail from licking ended up costing me over $1500 to have treated. I paid it, because in the end, it was about my animal getting better, and they know that loving pet owners will pay. Upon looking at the bill, they gave him an IV and Imodium, vitamins, yogurt cultures, a standard antibiotic and tests. No diagnosis. The place is littered with fear mongering posters about how the lack of this or that will kill your cat, dog, etc. News flash: a dog will eat its own poop if you let it, it doesn't need a flu shot and people who opt to not give it are not terrible "parents" to their fur baby. They also enjoy sending you across town to a highly specialized compounding pharmacy to get extremely, and I mean EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE, compounded pharmacy prescription. This is the second time they've done this. Once for a wormer, and now for a chicken flavored antibiotic. Prepare to fork over your rent! | |
    | | 1/2/10 | Smoketown is now a VCA facility. We had enjoyed the care and value our pets were given but can no longer recommend the practice under the VCA banner. IF you do go here, get a written estimate before the Dr. does anything and ask if it includes future (follow-up) services, likely these will cost extra, and ask what else the estimate is not covering but may be required. | |
    | | 7/30/07 | Excellent veterinarians, very knowledgeable, high tech...but they are out to rip you off. It's all about the almighty dollar to this chain. Whatever they can sell you, they will, whether or not your pet needs it. They do not advise clients about side affects of medications and hand out drugs like Rimadyl like candy. The rich get richer and the poor get poorer at this clinic. Front desk staff is very nice. Prepare to get nickled & dimed to death while they pretent to care about you and your pet. | | | |
