I have to agree with the poster who mentioned recordkeeping. that's the kind of thing that makes you lose confidence at least for me. If the records aren't complete, what else are they doing? Cannot recommend.

Bogey my cat had a bad bad tear on hios head from a cat fight. They were great in treating him and with medicine and instuctions at 1/5 the cost of my normal vet. I have switched vets needless to say. Great place, great swervice, great prices.. Ron Robinson raleigh

While I like Dr. Monce, I am not at all impressed with the staff. I have been going to him since 2006 and have recently switched. Waiting due to an emergency is one thing. Waiting due to poor scheduling is unacceptable. The staff is rude, and they do not seem to realize that just because you can not see them it does not mean you can not hear them.

I am sorry to say that I have stopped using this veterinary practice since the quality of care was so problematic becuase it was so variable. At times Dr. Monce seems like a knowledgeable, caring veterinarian who took time to educate the pet owner. He was very good when I had to have a relatively young dog euthanized for a very aggressive cancer. Record keeping was a big problem. There were times when the care seemed slipshod and the clinical decisions may well have contributed to the unnecessary death of another pet dog. Because I lost confidence in this veterinarian, I have changed to another practice.

This animal hospital is GREAT and I recommend them to all of my friends and coworkers with pets. Dr. Monce is extremely knowledgeable, caring and kind to the animals plus he and all of the staff are very involved in animal rescue. The dogs and cats you see in the office are all rescues. I have taken my pets here since he opened and do not regret it one bit. Since he is the only vet in the practice, he sometimes runs behind because he is giving his full attention to the animal he is examining or because he is tending to an emergency walk-in. I really appreciate that he takes time with my pets and am glad he does so for his other clients as well. If he needs to spend the extra time on a pet, he will - and I think that's wonderful and very hard to find these days. I believe you should give this practice a chance. Your pet will appreciate it!

I have a 16 year old dog who has been having "old age" issues. Dr. Monce & his staff have been very compassionate & helpful in her care. They are all very caring, friendly & helpful!

I had an appointment in August, 07. My dog received a thorough exam by Dr Monce. I found him to be very approachable and took time to answer questions since I am a "new" pet owner. I, too did not find the front desk staff (2 ladies, talked like mother and daughter) to be very friendly, and it seemed I was disturbing them. They may be new hires, in any case more training would be beneficial. Two other ladies drew blood from my dog. They were gentle and spoke reassuringly to my pet. I was told I would be called about the results in several days. I called a week to 10 days later to check on the results - they had the results, but no one called.
