I took my dog there because he'd been attacked by another dog. He needed stitches to close a wound. The Staff was very rude. They did not even look at the animal. They told us they were all booked up and to go to another vet. I don't know how they can call themselves a hospital if they would not even look at the dog before rudely turning us away. They had absolutely no compassion.

Our experience with McEwen Animal Hospital was tragic. Our beloved died due to their malpractice. It started when our cat suddenly stopped eating, so we took him to the vet. The vet took x-rays which revealed that his intestinal track was blocked with stool, but despite this, the vet prescribed steroids and antibiotics, but did not prescribe any laxatives. That was on a Saturday. When we brought the cat in to see the vet for a follow up on Monday, there was a different vet on duty who told us that the cat was just severely constipated and that we should have given him laxatives days ago. He suggested that the cat be hospitalized for an enema. So we left him there, and two hours later, we received a phone call informing us that the cat had died during the administration of the enema. This seems like a case of malpractice to us - he shouldn't have died from such a standard procedure.

Very helpful, knowledgable and very friendly. If I have a problem with my Dogs they fit me in right away to get them seen. Very satisified.

Dr. Rutledge and staff are professional, caring and consistently helpful regarding pet care. Dr. R. has cared for our dogs and cats for many years. The care is consistently good and thoughtful no matter the age of the pet or the problem. They always explain the options and alternatives and advise about costs to expect. They make every effort to make our dog and cats comfortable and we never feel rushed. They are always willing to answer questions. The staff is consistent with almost no turnover and always welcoming to patients and clients. We are so grateful for their care for our family animal friends. Thank you!!

I switched from beardalls to McEwen at the end of 2014,and I'm very happy with the care and compassion shown to my sSiamese cats.they always answer my questions and ddon't try to sell you unessesary items.they are a pleasant bunch of staff and the office is small and welcoming.also good value for your money.

This is an excellent clinic. We've had 4 dogs treated here and only good comments, staff is great with the pets, facilities are fine. Waiting is never s problem and you definitely receive value for prices charged. Compassion and understanding and excellent care is what we expect and receive.

Excellent service, excellent care. I have been going to see Dr, Rutledge for the past 11 years. He has always been knowledgeable, caring and helpful. We recently had to put our dog to rest, and the staff were incredibly compassionate. We don't what we'll do when Dr. Rutledge retires.

We switched to this vet a year ago and it is the best experience my animals have ever had! Both of my dogs actually enjoy going to the vet now!

They care about the animals . I wouldn`t have had any other people look after my dog. Dr. Rutledge and staff are the best. And they were wonderful when my dog had to be put to sleep too!

I SWITCHED OVER TO THIS VET LAST YEAR. I AM TOTALLY SATISFIED WITH DR. RUTLEDGE'S AND HIS STAFF'S SERVICES COMPARED TO WHERE I WAS BEFORE. THEY DO NOT CHARGE HIGH PRICES NOR KEEP RECOMMENDING OTHER EXPENSIVE ALTERNATES. I FIND THIS VET TO BE A CARING INDIVIDUAL WHO TAKES OUR LITTLE DOG'S HEALTH SERIOUSLY...

Absolutely love this clinic. Every last person there is skilled, kind and patient. Plus, they always keep our budget in mind. So often Dr. Rutledge has reviewed the options for a given situation and said, " You could do X but it's very expensive and I don't think it's very useful" and has recommended something efficacious but less costly. We have never in 7 years found even one thing there to criticize; we feel fortunate to have found them.

I love this clinic. They are efficient, helpful and don't over charge. This vet is not "in it for the money" I believe Dr. Rutlage, and the staff do it for the love of animals.

Not pleased at all. I should have changed vets a long time ago. This vet prescribed my 7.38 kg cat, 100mg of Gabapentin twice daily. It totally wiped him out.........

Best experience I ever had at an animal hospital. Their use of laser surgury is a great comfort because of its advantages. Dr. Rutledge and staff show great dedication and kindness. the staff are highly professional and the pricing is very fair.

A fantastic clinic compared to others in Kingston.And the smell is because it is full of animals.What would you expect ? And the prices are extremely fair.Any other clinic in Kingston charges more than Mcewen.A first rate vet clinic
