My first appointment was on a Tuesday and she was running very late. I was rather disappointed that no one had called to tell me, but I had a good feeling that I would like her and, more importantly, that she could help my dog. I'm ultimately glad I waited because the woman has a gift. I wanted to give her a try because I just felt my traditional vet was missing something. Well he was. She watched my dog while explaining her methods to me and by the time she really looked at my dog she said, "this dog has kidney problems." Of course, being a skeptic, I just figured, let's wait and see what the blood work says. Well, bloodwork came back and yes, early kidney failure. My old vet never would have known. So far the herbs have helped and I feel good about her treatment. I will be taking my other dog to her next month as well. Price was about right on what other vets charge. Not too high, and she has a lab on site, which is a huge plus!

Dr. Ballard came to our attention through our daughter. Dr. Ballard was responsible for treating our diabetic cat with insulin and then herbal treatments which allowed us to have our "family member" for an additional 8 years. Not before or since have we ever witnessed a more caring vet. We now have a dog and only wish that our current vet were of the same character as Dr. Ballard but only you folks in the Carrollton area are so blessed. She is a treasure and we do miss her.

I have been taking my pets (dogs, cats, rats) to Dr. Ballard since 1995 and have driven 45 minutes past many other veterinarians (some recommended by friends and family) to get to her just to buy heartworm preventative. I love this clinic and Dr. Ballard and as long as I'm in the DFW area (and probably Texas), I will continue to trust her with my pets and my heart. She is outstanding, honest, intelligent and is constantly learning more and more about pet care, nutrition, alternative medicines and treatments and I am still praying for the day that I will have a human doctor that is half as awesome as my pet's. If you need a second or third opinion on anything, go here!

While no vet is perfect, Dr. Ballard comes as close to perfection as possible. Dr. Ballard's knowledge of Chinese herbs and alternative treatments are second to none. Her surgical skills are excellent. This is one of the only clinics in the Dallas area that actually carries healthy foods such as Wellness and California Natural. A Chiropractor also visits the clinic for senior and injured pets. I have witnessed miracles at this clinic. :) NOTE: As with most, this is a clinic, not a hospital, because there is no night staff round the clock or on weekends. A critically ill patient such as one on IV should never be left at any vet clinic unattended or kept behind locked doors where you can not personally check on them. Never have surgeries done at the end of a week where you are required to leave your pet over a weekend.
