Pet Retreat experience:
My dog has been going to a place for 3-4 years, loves it, and all the pups! I forgot to schedule her so I had to find an alternative place. I tried here. Not only did they claim she lunged aggressively at another dog during thier eval, but I of course, wasn't there to see it; this would be extremely out of character for her. IF it happened as suggested, there must have been a reason out of the norm, or perhaps staff not entirely educated beyond textbook, about dogs' behaviors, because this has never happened in about 4 years of having her. I even asked her regular place.
Additionally, I was told that I could still board her but she would be kept in the private kennel, taken out only 4-5 times a day. Every try to keep a husky mix confined?
My experience was not the first negative comment I've heard, I opted to form my own opinion. My final comment... move right on past this place.

The oncall Sunday person who said that she was a vet named Ashley was very uncaring and rude. All I wanted to do was ask questions about a sick cat, she wouldn't even talk to me, she cut me off very abruptly. She answered as "Ashley", and I asked "are you the vet" and she said yes. I tried to say well I just had a question, to run by you and then she didn't want to hear it she just cut me off and said "is this an emergency?", and I said well I just, and she really wasn't interested unless I said "yes" and so I just said "forget it" she was so rude and uncaring, I picked this vet 3 years ago on a Sunday when we had to bring our dog in and they were caring at the time. That is the reason I picked them because they would at least listen to someone's problem, but forget it, now they are only interested in following a scripted procedure, I guess you can't evern run it past them to see if it might be an emergency!

Very welcoming and knowledgable staff. Brand new facility. Dr. Ransome is wonderful to work with and seems receptive to alternative therapies. She listens to the " pet's family" when making decisions.
