Warning. Save your precious pet from being unnecessarily butchered by this vet. I took my small dog in suffering an allergic reaction to a medication they prescribed for his leg. After an entire day of painful expensive tests they would not admit it was the medication reaction. They immediately wanted to perform surgery. They showed us x rays of his swollen belly stating he had a foreign object in it a sock or cancer? He is 12 pounds and never eats objects. The vet had us all convinced he may die if he doesn't have the unnecessary surgery.! After a lengthy wait the vet finally came out to tell us she was pleased she did the surgery as he had a small tear in an intestine ( probably since birth) nothing to cause the illess. In different words she notified us he doesn't have cancer he was full of gas?I informed her numerous times the medication side effects on the package including gas etc were what was making him sick. The vet told me she never heard of the meds making a dog ill despite

Doesn't take long for the entire town to know you are calling animal control on everyone! Show up to clients houses' then next thing you know animal control is there with a anonymous tip. How many more of these horror stories will come

Since Dr. Jim Garvin retired, the vets no longer care about the welfare of animals, just sucking you dry with unnecessary charges. UNLESS YOU HAVE A LOT OF MONEY TO GIVE THEM, STAY AWAY!! GRODDE IS INCOMPETENT AND ALSO WORKS AT MERRICKVILLE VET. STAY AWAY FEOM THEM TOO.

I cannot over exaggerate the phenomenal service we have had with the Smiths Falls Veterinary Clinic in the more than 30 years we have been taking our pets there. The kindness,compassion, sensitivity, honesty, care, helpfulness, and good nature we have experienced there have made the Smiths Falls Vets the only place where we will go. WE have had many dogs and cats go through their hands, and each was treated in a way that I would want for myself if I were sick. The vets are thorough, knowledgeable, and compassionate. The supporting staff stand as exemplars to courtesy and knowledge themselves. The whole clinic runs efficiently, effectively, and collectively. After thirty years, we should know. There is not one of my pets who has received less than their full attention and their whole efforts. And when we have had to put our pets down, their grief was as deep as our own. You'll find a no more genuine and compassionate operation anyplace else.

My last experience with this vet was one that I hope no one else has to experience our horse was colicing so we called the vet out it was 530 ish when he arrived he was extremely rude and obnoxious. He told us that he should be intact sitting down with his children eating dinner rather than attending to our horse he was barely there for 10mins but by the end of it he told my daughter that she should think of having the horse put to sleep as she was having to many episodes and she was way out of our price range of course my horse was heart broken.He also decided that he would charge us extra because of his unconvinced even though on 3previous occasions he had charged the same he did not tell us just put in on the bill. When I called and question him he told me that he was charging extra now to clients who owed him money even though he had agreed my daughters payment schedule and she was making regular payments.this is not a clinic I would recommend if you love your animals
