Not as convenience or service oriented as they used to be.

This is our usually vet but when they tried to charge me twice for a bill for my small dog I felt very used. I just paid a 8grand bill in cash for my large dog. They insisted I did not pay when I paid cash and all my other bills were paid cash. I would never leave a place of business without paying. I don’t even think that’s legal? Anyways, make SURE you request a receipt and keep them on hand if this ever happens to you. I ended up having to go pay half the bill.. they should have waived it in my opinion.

Dr Marlow and the other vets are absolutly fantastic. I have been going to Brookswood vet since I got my very first dog. Than was 30 years ago. I would go nowhere else. Dr Marlow seems especially gifted at helping dogs live very long, comfortable lives ie. our Malamute lived until 14 yrs and was cheerful, and comfortable until the end -

Dr. Marlowe, Dr. Olson and Dr. Machine have all been amazing while taking care of our now 17 year old golden retriever. Treating her cataract, issues with hips, and just showing an immense amount of professionalism, love and care has kept our pet with us for far longer than we could have hoped. Hands down best vet clinic in Greater Vancouver.

I have been with this vet for 28 years and will not go anywhere else. Dr marlow and DR Wright are both awesome and i've seen quite a few reviews here saying they always have new staff and yet i've been dealing with the same staff for years??? and they are amazing. They care for your pets like their own. i trust them 100% and would recommend them 100%

We took our beloved dog to be put down here. Dr.Marlowe and his staff were amazing. They treated us and our beloved girl with kindness and respect. What was a very difficult day for us was made better because of the caring and compassion that we were shown here. I will never forget how they went out of their way to be gentle and give us time to grieve. Wonderful and caring people.

I just changed vets and went to see Dr. Wright, she is very caring and wonderful with my cat. I was made to feel that all my concerns were important to her and she really listened. My cat had an injury and she repaired it right away and now she is home healthy and happy. I was also very pleased with the cost, they could have charged me a lot more than they did. I will go back to this hospital for all my pets

I took my 12 year old black lab to this clinic. She told me he had heart disease and needed x rays. She took two x rays and one of them didn't show up properly, but I needed to pay for it anyway. I left the vet more confused about what was going on with my dog because she told me 4 different things that could be going wrong, also about different expensive treatments he would need. She didn't know the name of the tests she wanted me to get him (calling an ECG an EKG and such) Also one of the exams would tell me if he had an enlarged haeart... which I already knew because I had to get those x rays done. IT was as if she was talking from a brochure, saying so where do we go from here? She wanted to put him on medication but he would need three different types (at least that's what she told me) but when I said I wanted to wait a day, she said she could send me home with one of them? It was overall a poor experience and I will be taking my animals elsewhere.

Once I found out this clinic was run through scientology I left. Plus there is always new staff, which that isn't so bad it would just be nice to have some stability. Dr.Marlow seems like he's getting too old for the business, always repeating himself and talks to me as if I'm a first time owner with the breed I have. Never going back to this clinic.

ALWAYS new staff when we come in - this is something to take note of! I have heard Dr. Marlow talking rudely to his staff in the back which is why I see the other female doctor (who is great!) Not cheap, not outrageous - fairly priced. Seem to wait around for appointments a lot. Overall, the clinic is good except for the male doctor!

My cat had a chronic condition and unfortunately we had to have him put to sleep due to the cost of the procedures and the uncertainty of his survival. Overall I was satified with Mr Marlow's diagnosis and the care given, but as seniors on fixed incomes it would have been appreciated to get a break on the ongoing costs of drugs and the special food diet required.

Took a newborn litter of pups here for tail docking. pups were maintained at home, well heated by lamps and heating pads. Took to this vet in a car we warmed up for 10 minutes to ensure it was warm, and upon pick up when they were done, the pups were COLD. This cold helps the canine herpes virus take over thier poor little immune systems (testing proved the cause of death) and we lost 6 pups. Not only an emotional loss, but also a financial loss, that never should have happened. If a vet clinic is unable to properly care for certain types of things, like puppies who rely on heat to maintain health, they should not offer thier services. I will NOT be returning, after the loss of so many of our well loved little guys.

Dr,Marlow is AMAZING! We live in Vancouver and All 3 of my Weims go there. He is Caring and explains everything. He has himself followed up with me at home to see how my dog was.He performed a very delicate operation on one of my dogs and the outcome was beyond great. The Vancouver Emergency Clinic would have charged 6x the price. To those that wrote that his Staff keeps changing the same two Tech have been there for 15 plus years.I do know that he does foster Student Placements so perhaps that is what you are seeing

service is good but the vet seems to be more of a salesman than a vet. dog had an infection in his paw and the vet insisted that he needed an xray to see if it was broken when i knew it wasnt. convinced me to to waste my money on it and it turned out it wasnt broken, it was an infection as i had thought. it seems their pricing is a bit higher than average too.

New staff every time we go here and we always have to see a new vet. The wait is always way after your scheduled appointment time and the doctor seems to ask the same question multiple times during an appointment like he forgets? Most of the staff seem really nice but I the doctor never listens to your concerns and always talks over you.

I absolutely love Brookwood Veterinary Hospital and so does my Dog, all the staff there is very kind, they treat you like you are their No.1 customer. I have never had them try to sell me anything & didn't need or want. I wouldn't ever consider going to any other Vet.

Funny thing, I had my dog' ear repaired by Dr. Marlow and everything went great, it healed quickly and he sure did not overcharge me. The staff there could not have been more helpful and caring, they phone to see if everything is alright and all the questions I asked were taken seriously and delt with in a professional way. This is the only vet I want to have treating my pets.

The old guy botched a simple hematoma surgery on my dog's ear. Took him back and the vet was spurting his blood all over the floor trying to fix his mistake. They seem more eager to sell you dog food than to learn modern surgical techniques. I went back to my previous vet in Mission. Dr. Martin Rebele is an excellent surgeon for a younger man, and keeps his knowledge up-to-date.

I have been going to this Vet hospital for the past 20 years. Dr Marlow started out on his own and has grown very successful. He charges a bit more than some vets but that's only b/c he has the client base and professionalism to do it. Money shouldn't be an object when it comes to your pet's health. This vet is amazing, explains everything to you, gives you options. I moved away and tried other vets, only to storm out of some.I now drive the distance b/c i know how well my animals are treated here. I used to volunteer here and I know exactly what happens "behind the scenes" and can say that your animal will not receive better care anywhere else, and you will not find a more knowledgeable team of Vets. You and your pet are the first priority here.

Good vet (Dr. Marlow), wonderful 'bedside manner', but if you are facing the horrible decision of euthanasia for an ailing pet, please carefully inquire as to the procedure. I did not have a good experience in this regard. The best way is sedation, mask with oxygen and anesthesia, and then the needle, not poking around in the poor animals leg over and over while he is held tightly upright with no sedation or pain medication. I was not offered options, and I made a mistake by not inquiring, and have to live with the horrible memory.

I took my kitten there to be spayed on a free certicate. They keep them in for 1 day which was fine but when i went to pick her up it took them over an hour to bring her to me. Once the vet came to talk to me she talked for another 20 min. I have gone thru this spay stuff many times and seemed to be a waste of my time. My cat healed fine and all but alot of nonsense goes on there it seems

What a great hospital! The staff understood my panic when my little dog got sick and reacted very professionally. They are truly a caring, wonderful team. My dog has always been afraid of men but she loved the man doctor. He was so kind and gentle with her. I was very touched when I got a phone call a few days later to make sure she was ok. I will never take my pets anywhere else and I have recommended this clinic to all my friends.

I have been taking my pets here for about 4 years now - when my puppy fell off the back stairs and broke her pelvis - Brooksood animal hospital took fantastic care of her and they did not charge much at all considering she was in the hospital for about 3 days. She has recovered fully and I always feel like we are given the personal touch here. They truely care about the pets and their people.

A friend of mine went to see the male doctor with her weimaraner puppy that was acting a bit strange. Immediately he told her that it was HOD and to take the puppy back to the breeder, befor he even got the blood work back. After her puppy was given back to the breeder and resold, she found out that it was a completely cureable bacterial infection and not HOD. She was completely heart broken about having given the puppy that she bonded with for over a month, and the vet didn't seem to have the time of day for her.

My husband has had this vet since childhood. When we met this vet became apart of our family. We have had 9 dogs during our time with this vet and 2 cats. Unfortunatly we have had some sad times and scary times. They care unconditionally about the animals that walk through their doors and money is not their only concern. My dog just this new years became very ill. We had no idea what was going but we did know that something was wrong with the nerves in her brain. We can't afford a cat scan or an MRI for our dog and that was the only thing left to do after blood tests. So the doctor understood with his experience and understanding of her symptoms he took and educated guess and now after a month of treatment she has fully recovered. I am thankfull to the caring staff at Brookswood Vet Hospital because they do care and they will always be the first place i go when my dog needs good quality care.

We take our two small dogs there and have always received great service. The new vet there only does what is necessary to ensure our dogs are healthy and to her, it's not about production unlike some other clinics.

I went to them with my seven month old cat to have a simple neuter. Later that day they called me to tell me he had died under anesthetic. He was a healthy (by the Dr's own proclaimation) young boy, and in the short time I had him, I loved him very much. The doctor couldn't offer me any explaination except "These things happen". No, they don't. If he was being properly monitored, it wouldn't have happened. Other vets I'd been to with past animals always gave me a run-down of what would happen during my pet's surgery, and part of it was that they'd be hooked up to a pulse or heart monitor. Brookswood said they didn't do that for my cat, so who knows how long he was dead before they realized it. This was a couple of years ago, and to this day the situation haunts me. I blame myself, I should have never gone there just because it was closer than other vets I had been to. Anyone with half a brain would never go there.
