Click to report rating    12/31/06 I found a dog on my work route tied in a back yard with a broken leg. I got permission from the dog owner to take the dog, and stopped in Rubinstein's clinic expecting to be turned away. I was not a client. I told the receptionist about the dog in my car. She immediately told me she would help me bring the dog in.Dr. Rubinstein himself looked at the dog and on the spot offered to care for the dog for free. He actually took the xrays to an orthopedic surgeon for a second opinion on the dogs case. The leg had to be amputated and the dog was adopted by a vet tech. His love for animals amazed me after dealing with so many vets that could care less about a non paying client. Oh, and I offered money to Dr. Rubinstein and he refused it and thanked me for helping this poor litle dog. He is a wonderful vet. RID: 1665
Click to report rating    11/17/06 They almost killed my cat!!!! I boarded him there for 11 days (because if anything happened while I was gone; he's at the vet). Upon my return my cats anus was the size of a souvenior penny and white pus was protruding. They sent him home with anti inflammatory cream and said come back in 3 days. I called to find out how this could have happened and they told me that I must have brought him in like that and that it was cancer. They wanted to sedate & biopsy him (that would have killed him). I took him away immediately to a good vet who cultured the pus and immediately put him on antibiotics. A blood test revealed he had a double infection and the good vet claimed I was lucky my cat is still alive. Dr. Rubensteins office did nothing, did not call me, did not treat my cat and now my cat is permanently damaged due to this horrible infection. BTW... my cat does not have cancer!!!! Wrong diagnosis too!!! STAY AWAY FROM HERE! RID: 769
