Took our dog in for a regular check up after $1500 found out the blood test were mixed up and our dog was fine. No refund issued...not going elsewhere with out pets

This clinic is awesome! I recently had an emergency with my young cat and the clinic acted fast to save his life. The staff were very kind and sincere. I had pets years ago and had used this clinic for their needs. My experience was no different now than in the past - great people that care for the animals.

all vet doctors that my dog has seen at this vet are amazing! BUT the front desk staff are the rudest people! Its surprising that they are there to help people when a majority of them have snobby bad attitudes. theres maybe one or two that are nice. But they should really get rid of the rude ones it makes the experience so bad for good pet owners bringing in their pets. other than that it is a great place to get your pet checked

Had a bad experience with this vet! Took my dog in to be put to sleep due to her suffering from Cancer. Paid the bill quoted to by front staff. Roughly six months after the passing of our dog the office manager gives me a call and tells me that their front staff didn't charge me enough and I had an outstanding bill. Seriously! How is that my fault maybe train them!! They did wave this after a lot of argueing but then threatened me that if I bring in another animal if they over charge me they will not correct it. Nice way to treat clients who have been attending your clinic for 20+ years. I did report this to BBB. Made sure that I let everyone that we know the crap they did!

I had a pretty miserable experience with these guys a couple of days ago when my wife and I took a cat in that had some kind of respiratory problem. The front end staff were rude and their only solution was to euthanize the cat for $100. We decided to get a second opinion. We went to another clinic in spruce and they examined the cat and the prognosis was the same and they euthanized her for $30 cheaper. That should have been the end of the story but we hadn't even been home an hour when who shows up but bylaw enforcement because spruce grove veterinary clinic phoned them on us and made up some story about us just going to toss the cat out on the road because we wanted a second opinion. I find this behaviour pretty sanctimonious, like they cared about our cat more than we did. I suspect they cared more about the $100 and couldn't care less about the cat. My wife didn't need the extra stress of being treated like some kind of cat criminal after just having had to put her cat down.

I'm not one to usually complain on these sites but we had a particularly bad experience with our Golden here. She was in for a minor procedure and while they had her under general anasthesia decided to remove a tooth, without our consent. We only found out about it when we picked her up. To make things much worse, it was not removed properly, the root was left in, and she developed a horrible infection that actually created a hole right through her chin. We incurred huge bills for emergency dentistry and antibiotics not to mention the stress our poor dog endured. We submitted the emergency bill to Spruce Grove and they did cover the cost of the visit but not the antibiotics. I would be very leery to use this centre again. But as in all places, one bad apple can ruin the bunch. It was only one vet so do your research...

We've been using this clinic since 1993. We've never had any issue with front end staff, quite the opposite. They are always friendly & courteous & greet us by name. Our pets have been treated by Dr. Stretch but Dr. Jennifer Stelfox had been their primary caregiver. The clinic lost a real "gem" when she left the clinic to move to the South Edm Clinic. We have found a new 'gem' at the clinic. Dr. S. Terletski walked 'with us' through chemo treatments & the eventual passing of our beloved pet. Our girl always felt safe & at ease in Dr. T's hands. She handled our girl with kid gloves and we are so grateful for that. She took time to answer our huge number of questions & made follow up calls that we were not expecting. She was sensitive to our loss & helped us to make decisions that were in our pets best interest, We have full confidence in Dr. T & will continue to see her for our future vet needs. The Vet techs behind the scenes are a caring & compassionate group of staff.

I've been using Spruce Grove Vet Clinic for over 15 years. Dr Stretch is our primary vet. Recently we had an emergency and Dr Stretch was currently in surgery and unable to deal with our situation so we had to see Dr Terletski for the first time. This made me very nervous because I had a serious situation and a new Vet I was not familiar with tending to him. Dr. T. I found to be great with follow-ups during his 5 day stay and answered all my questions and concerns. Once my German Shepherd was feeling better I knew he would be a difficult boy. She joked about it and didn't make me feel like I had a naughty child. (Oh I know he was). When it was time for him to go home, ahhh... the front end staff, brutal. I didn't have the opportunity to speak with Dr T when he was released and asked the front end staff a few questions. BIG MISTAKE. Rude! A costly 5 day stay - 1400.00 well worth it for his treatment. Front end staff not worth 5 bucks.

I have been bringing my dogs here (two yorkies, one now deceased) for over 12 years. I have never, not once, had a problem. The staff is excellent, polite, caring, and professional. I use Dr. Stretch in particular (a Yorkie godsend, bless his soul) but in the past have used other vet's with good success as well at this clinic. As recently as today, we brought my gf's 8 month old Yorkie in for spaying, shots, amongst other things, and upon admittance the staff were yet again absolutely perfect. I am a very honest person and if I had a bad experience I would post it. It doesn't matter to me. The prices here are a little on the high side, but I do not mind at all paying for the great care of the staff, as well as the honor of having Dr. Stretch care for my dog(s). My current Yorkie is 9 years old, and in perfect condition and I owe a lot of that to the great care given by this clinic.

We were a part of the stony plain Sonora fire and my cat was caught inside for more than an hour. She finally jumped out a three story window and I rushed her burned body to the emergency spruce grove vet. They were amazing! I couldn't have asked for better and my cat is alive because of them. And because we lost everything, they did it all for no charge. Even though she's a difficult cat they took care of her the best they could and I owe all the staff there more than just gratitude. I owe them Rocky's life. They didn't even care that I kept coming down to check on her. Didn't act like I was a bother because I just wanted to pet her one more time. Highly recommend this vet clinic. Thank you everyone.

Our family pets have been taken care of by this clinic for years and years. From bunnies, cats and dogs. They provide unbelievable care and support. They treat our animals like family. Thru shots, check ups, standard surgeries to cancer treatments and difficult times they have been nothing but caring and supporting. Dr. Pfeiffer is a treasured gem and Dr. Stretch is an incredible human being. Everyone we have seen has been amazing. We recommend them all the time. Unfortunately when we recommended the clinic to a good friend they received the most disgusting treatment from the wife of Dr. Stretch.. I have seen other reviews here with similar incidences of her unprofessional conduct. It's unfortunate the reviews that could affect the reputation of this clinic are about her and her daughter and how they may affect people feeling about bringing pets to this clinic when majority of the service is provided by amazing people. I myself have never had to deal with either of them.

This clinic has an excellent reputation. The Doctors go above and beyond what I have seen in other clinics, at least most of them do. Here the almighty dollar is not the most important thing. The receptionists always are working as quickly and efficiently as possible in order to keep clients happy. I have noted that when time permits they are very friendly and take an interest in owners and their pets and tend to greet cilents with a smile. I think it is important to also note that at peak times they do a great job at handling a huge volume of appointments, animal emegencies, upset and worried owners and even Doctors who's day has been filled with emotionally upset people. Frankly I don't know anyone who could handle it better. If you have had a less than perfect experience at this clinic, maybe you should look in the mirror and ask yourself what you can do to be a better person!

I have been a long time client of this clinic and while I adore all the DMV's, some of the front desk staff are miserable. I attended today to pick up several very expensive meds for my dog (I spend about $650 per month on meds alone plus the several vet rechecks required). The owners daughter was at the desk, she was very rude and berated me in front of an office full of patrons. She was out of line as she was mistaken about the subject. When she realized her error instead of apologizing she just fluffed me off and continued what she was doing. I wish I could say this was the first time. Next week I will be researching other clinics and will consider leaving. I will have to make the heart wrenching decision to euthanize my beloved pet soon and I cannot bear to think of being treated so disrespectfully by the staff here when that time does come.

There are a number of terrific clinics with talented vets out there so please do yourself a favor and don't use Spruce Grove Vet Clinic. If you want to work with a clinic where the staff actually care about your animal this is NOT the place to go. They bicker amongst themselves in front of the customers, they make jokes about customers they have just talked to on the phone, and they do their level best to ignore the customers in the waiting room. If they choose to call you or your animal by name a miracle has occurred - its not that they don't remember they just don't care. A couple of the vets are very good, sincerely caring and willing to help but they only work part time and one of those good ones has now changed clinics. As have we. BTW: the earlier comment someone made about the mother/daughter team at the front desk is dead on. These people are the family that own the clinic so its no surprise the rest of the staff are so bad !

I read some other posts, and was hesitant to bring our cat there, due to the comments about the staff. My experience there was great! The front staff were welcoming, said hello and I did not have to wait long to be helped. Dr Lewis was fantastic, and when I called back for some clarification on something, again I was treated respectfully and they were very helpful! I would go back again if I needed to!

When I rate staff it is only due to the reception and some of the young techs (all but Kelly and Tia who are fabulous!). They are very rude and condescending. I am surprised that most of them have been there for so long with how miserable they are. The Vet staff are top notch. Dr. Pfeiffer is so unbelievably patient and caring, I have recommended her to so many people. I recently had a problem with an error the clinic had made Dr. stretch was very accommodating but the front desk staff was infuriating to deal with. I cannot believe they would be so careless regarding the health of an animal.

Dr. Stretch is fantastic if he wasn't at this clinic I would definitely not be going there. The front end staff is HORRIFIC! Rude, rude RUDE! Wicked attitude. I'd can all their butts! There isn't one friendly receptionist there. If they hate their jobs so much, go work at walmart. Its simple.

Dr. Stretch is compassionate and understanding. He takes the time to evalutate the pet and the parent/owners capabilities. The options to treat your vet are explained in full. Wonderful.

My family has been using this clinic for 30 years or more. I trust Dr. strech with my dogs care. All of the drs. at this clinic are wonderful. Dr.phifer is wonderful and take her time with each case. The prices are more than fair. YES the front end staff really could use a brush up course or two on dealing with the public. I wont go anywhere else.

I switched to this clinic 5 years ago when one of our dogs developed a rare condition. The whole staff, veterinary and administrative, have bent over backwards to help us and provide the best care and service to our girl. Their 24-hr service is a God send and greatly contributes to reduce the stress caused to our pets and ourselves. They take the time to listen and to ensure we are involved in the overall health of our pets. And last but not least, their rates are one of the more affordable in the greater Edmonton area, even if we have to drive 70 km to get there!

I find two woman at this clinic, deplorable. They are mother and daughter and they need some guidance in Customer Service and cordiality. I have discontinued, this clinic solely because of them. These are the owner and her daughter. They should reevaluate their attitude.

I took my cat into this office last year with a problem with her leg. I just recently got a new cat from the Humane Society and went to take her in there to get her check up. When I got in there they told me that I have a bill outstanding for the amount of $700 for emergency treatment and euthanasing a dog???? They have different phone numbers on my file and changed my address. I told them I dont have a dog I have 2 cats, never owned a dog in my life. The lady at the desk did everything but call me a liar to my face, they refused to provide me service. I have called several times spoken to different people and get no where, they keep sending me invoices. I have filed a complaint with the BBB today about this.

The Vets & Staff are VERY compassionate. We were fortunate to have Dr. Lewis see to our emergency. She respected our families financial concerns but took VERY GOOD care of our pup. By far the BEST prices around in Edmonton I got quotes $1800-$2500 for our dogs surgery they SAVED HER LIFE for less than $900 and that included a 3 day stay. Top notch service as for the staff there were very helpful and lovely with me!

I was referred to this clinic by a friend. They are all truly amazing. My dog has developed a unique case of lymphoma (95% sure) and Dr. Stelfox who is an oncologist has been amazing! She is super nice, will answer any of your questions, she's honest, a pet owner and will promptly return your calls. Dr. Terletski is also a super nice vet! It's a very busy place, but once you see the vet, you feel like you're in the best care! I live in Sherwood Park and travel here just to have them look at my dogs. They are priced well too! Just an awesome place! LOVE THEM!
