very expensive place. PRICE GOUGING ALL THE TIME. I won't recommend this vet. charged me so many extra things on my first visit with my puppy. Sweet talked me into paying hundreds extra.

This clinic charges for things that are optional like the stool sample and then if you don't come back with it you have paid. Advance billing. They are always add-on fees and games they play to get the bill up. I leave angry. I love my dog but this place only seems to care about playing games with out pets money money greedy people. I am going to investigate whether it is legal to advance bill for something when I tell them I do not want the fecal sample collection because I buy sentinel at $120. That is enough.

Over the last few years their business manager has taken the concept of add-on selling and hiding prices to the max. Always have good to great service but their prices are always higher than anybody else. I'd be tempted to say - price gouging. they are constantly adding on bit pricing. If you ask the price of procedure ABC, they give you a price. But low and behold when you get the bill there's a list of additional fees for bits and pieces necessary for the procedure. NOT IMPRESSED. Oh did I mention they were charging me 250% more for some meds than I can get those meds elsewhere!!?? Then of course there's the fear-mongering that is becoming more and more prevalent... again in order to sell you more yet again. WHat happened to this place? We were loyal customers until about 3 or so years ago when it became clear their focus changed from vet care to vet profit.

Monetary value is the biggest concern there. If you compare you will find out how much more you are paying there. Not sure if all the procedures suggested is necessary. Otherwise the team there are professional and are nice people.

Way over priced and they try and sell you everything. They have a sales pitch for everything and their selling technique is a routine.

Excellent care. Sarah dumont is very knowledgeable and spent a lot of time with us. Better care than our family physician. The prices are reasonable and comparable with most good quality vets. We had tried two other vets for our animals. One almost caused the loss of our dog's eye and did an improper procedure ended up with a corneal graft at the eye specialist. The other vet wanted us to wait 4 days for our cat that was not eating or drinking or going to the bathroom and vomiting. This was the cat we took to Dr Sarah and is still under her care. We have always had good luck with female vets in the past and will definitely stick with women vets like Dr Sarah. Sorry guys. The women have this one

This clinic is great! Both vets, Yvonne and Sara are awesome. All the front staff are nice and efficient and the vet techs too, super kind and compassionate. Yvonne and Sara have gone above and beyond their duty as a regular vet by not rushing thru appointments when late and speaking to me on long phone calls. I do not hesitate for a second to recommend them and I am VERY fussy! 4 points only for monetary value because I do find them a bit pricey but for the care my cats are getting, it is worth it.

Their service approach is quite unlike others. Two experienced and qualified DVM's lead a team supported by well qualified (and experienced) veterinary technicians who give in-depth consultation and prompt follow-up to tests and visits. We'd like to cite Dr Sarah Dumont and Brittanee as professionals who are very sensitive to the cat's needs, knowledgeable about options, and are open to working in a collaborative way with pet owners. Vet fees here are about average, and given the expertise, are excellent value. For a competent and caring Vet for your pet, this is the place!

This is a wonderful facility with lovely staff. The vets are informative and really take their time. My dog was overweight and they took the time to let me come in for weigh-ins and consultations monthly for free!! My dog is now a healthy weight and happier then ever.The prices are competitive and I always feel that I get more then my moneys worth.

Yvonne is a very knowledgeable & patient vet. The assistants are very caring & well informed also. We are very confident & comfortable with our vet & the assistants. The fur kids are always happy to see their Doc. Can't ask for better recommendations than happy fur kids

We have been bringing our pets (2cats 1 dog) to Island Vet for almost 10 years. Animals and humans are treated with care and respect at every visit. Yes, they are a little expensive but the care is top notch and the latest technologies are used. We recommend them to everyone we know with pets. Can't say enough about how friendly all of the office staff, vet techs and vets are.

Overpriced. Emailed for a quote to spay our two kittens and vaccinate them, was quoted almost 1100.00. Called another clinic and was quoted 250 before taxes for both kittens. Sorry, not ever going there at those prices. All included services on both quotes, so explain an 800 dollar difference?

we brought our sick dog in to see Dr. Dumont, after a referral from a friend. She gave us all of our options, and when it came time to make a descision, we could not afford the care and diagnostic treaments needed to save his life. Never in my life has anyone been so compassionate nor attentive. The girls never made me feel bad for having to choose to put our sweet boy down, and they were very sympathetic and caring. I would highly recommend this hospital to anyone looking to give their pets the best care!

I felt my dog was medically treated well, but prices were high and I phoned with questions and was not answered quickly, and when I called again, was treated rudely.

Brought my cat in for Dr. Yvonne Van Duin to extract a tooth. She and her staff are very caring and very fair - they seem to put the interest of the pets first. We had fair recommendations from Dr. Yvonne - some of which means she'd get less fees - and our questions were answered with utmost details and professionalism. She was adamant about not keeping my cat overnight - since nobody is there anyway - which is different from Richmond Animal Hospital where they kept my cat even when she didn't undergo any surgery (a scam!) Love this place! A little pricey for the procedure we've got...but well worth it, we had very good services.

Ive used this vet for ages, the staff are always helpful and very nice. The ONE time I had a less than ideal appointment, they gave me a complementary one next time - great customer service!

I cannot say enough great things about our experience with Dr. Yvonne. We had to put our 13 year old dog down and she handled a very difficult decision with incredible sympathy, caring and compassion. Not only did she show this to our Family (we were all present) but also to our dog. I rated punctuality with a 4 because she was late seeing us but only because she was treating a dog who was having an allergic reaction to bees and was in a dire situation. All of the staff were great. Tehy were all sympathetic. We were provided a private room to sit with our lovely dog for his last while both before and afterwards. We were not forced to leave quickly and for this we are grateful. Dr. Yvonne also got down on her hands and knees to get to the level of our dog (he was large) and we are so grateful for this!! We highly recommend this vet. She, and her staff are some of the very best out there!!
