The doctors and staff of Hope go above an beyond when it comes to my pets. They are just as concerned about what is going on with my pet as I am when I have had to go there for more than routine appointments. They always make time for me. I have enjoyed each visit I have had with them

The whole staff has always been so caring for my pets and I. I will never go to another vet as long as I live close to Athens. They are always there to answer my questions honestly. I recommend HOPE to everyone.

Dishonest doctors and staff. Brought my 8 year old cat in for annual exam and vaccines. Rabies vaccine certificate from Hope Animal showed an expired date for vaccine batch given. I called them to ask them about it and they got very nervous, especially since my kitty was now really sick. I went back and checked other certificates from them and had one other that was barely expired. Within two weeks my cat had masses on face, growths on neck, soft tissue swelling on x-rays around trachea, foaming at mouth, etc. Notes from vet say "if no improvement recommend referral or EUTHANASIA" which they never told me. They continued to treat her symptomatically and I ended up spending over $600.00. They said my only alternative was sending her to University of Georgia's vet clinic for exploratory surgery which would have cost over $3,000. I ended up having to have my cat euthanized a few weeks later. I feel that the doctor was not up front with me and the expired vaccines killed her.

I adopted a kitten from them and asked for advice because she peed on my doggie's bed(my first cat). Instead of helping me they tried to take her away from me. My regular vet suggested a phermone plug-in that worked! Then the kitten consequently got sick. When I took her back for treatment, they couldn't find anything wrong but said her treatment would be expensive and they tried to take her away from me again. All she needed was lactalose for hairballs and she was fine! It was not expensive for her treatment at all. The kitten ended up being a ragdoll and I believe when they realized she was a kitten worth $600 they wanted her back. I only paid a small adoption fee. I would never go back to them again. They are too expensive and try to treat simple things as being something more expensive.
