Very caring, knows what’s he’s doing. But, charged me for cortisone shots I never received from the first visit. over paid est $245. After repeated attempts trying to get a hold of him, expressing my concerns with his assistant and text. He eventually calls and is back over the very next day. He’s incredibly knowledgeable and was grateful for his services over my senior who I’m on the verge of putting down. Wrote a second check , $565 (brief memory lapse over the other payment I kept asking about…Jesus). A split second later, he asks for gas money claiming his credit cards do not work. Everything was rush rush rush at the end, and I’m so elated with him, willing to do anything. Afterwards, I can’t help to think, why didn’t I rewrite the check? Why didn’t he offer to pay me back? He certainly didn’t look like he was going to. Not to mention that smile… as he’s walking away. Anyway, soon afterwards, I realized we still didn’t go over the first visit! Always late shows up at 3 o’clock in the morning even after I told him not to come out. Misdiagnosed my dog said that she had a heart failure flight on the stomach put in. He recommended that I take her to another vet he knows. That vet diagnosed her with Cushing’s disease. I stopped payment to him and he called me up and cussed me out, he overcharged way too high $500 All he did was give her medicine the other vet at healthy pets of Westgate told me that she didn’t need any of that. Worst vet around rude.

I didn't know there were Veterinarians like Dr Nekic in the world, let alone in my area! He has been our vet for well over a decade. Back when it was the yellow pages, not the internet. His "All Creatures Great and Small" moved us, as we were thinking our beloved chocolate lab was going to need put down. He arrived, with compassion and expertise and thought she could be saved. Well, indeed she was! She lived even at 16, and we chasing her Frisbee like a champ :-) We currently have 4 dogs, and would NEVER use anyone else. To have him come here to treat them is invaluable!

My daughters pet chick was attacked by a raccoon and survived the incident. I had a vet friend that said she would'nt survive. I got a referral from a vet for Dr Nekics to have her euthenized. My daughter (15) wanted a second opinion, so she came. He was doing surgery on a chick that morning, so she was excited to meet him.
He examed her and thought he could help. The chick was barely moving and you could smell the wounds and see the bones from her wings sticking out. He took her back and had my daughter assist in the surgery teaching her as he went. She participated with the whole surgery and helped make decisions about the wing. Three days later she is jumping up on the tote to roost.
Dr Nekic seems to have intuitive medical skills with animals, not your typical cookie cutter vet. We like him and will bring our other pets here too. He was reasonably priced, and it was a great experience for my daughter to be part of the surgery. She will remember this her whole life.

We have an aging miniature Yorkshire Terrier who was suffering from a systemic infection and severe dehydration. After visiting TWO other vet clinics in the Westerville area, she was showing very little improvement, and we were quickly running out of patience and resources to afford required daily trips (with a frail animal in frigid temperatures) for office sessions for IV fluids, just to keep her alive. THEN, we found Dr. Nekic. He arrived at our home late in the day after we contacted him, and though it had obviously been a long day with many other appointments, he stayed with us for hours to stabilize our furbaby, and make her comfortable, all while educating us about her further needs to assure a full recovery. It was a pancreatic issue, and treatment included THE CORRECT combination of hydration, antibiotics and a careful probiotic treatment of her digestive system. I credit Dr. Nekic for saving our sweet little creature's life, and I can’t recommend his service enough. :-)

Dr. Nekic is a very compassionate Vet who will come to your house for emergency service any time of the day or night (24 hour service). I called Dr. Nekic to put my Olie down at home because she shook with fear every time I took her to the Vet's. Instead, he gave her shots to take the water off of her lungs (twice) which stopped her coughing (from lung cancer) and he gave her probiotics to help her appetite. My Vet would have only put her down and had nothing for her symptoms. Dr. Nekic gave us an extra 9 days together; and came within an hour of me calling when she stopped eating & her coughing came back. I think Dr. Nekic has much more experience in emergency care (will consider more options) than other Vets because he was an ambulance Med tech before he got his Vet's license. Other Vets only know what they were taught at OSU and will NOT consider alternative medicines or procedures. I would not take my dogs anywhere else. Excellent Vet. Cheryl Suttman

We were referred by a friend, our Westie was 17+yrs old and woke up passing blood and in pain. We had meds on hand to keep him comfortable from our vet, but knew this was the end. Called at 9am, Ken was at our home by 3pm, was compassionate and made his passing as good and comfortable as it could be and he was in our arms when he passed.

Dr. Nekic helped make the last months of our dog's life bearable for not only us, but also for her. It's important to have realistic expectations for a mobile vet's schedule. He was often late, but he always communicated with us and we appreciated the time he spent when he was at our home. We never felt like he was rushed and he was always present. He let us know what our options were and helped us make informed decisions. Dr. Nekic is passionate and empathetic. It meant so much to us that he was able to come to our home and treat our dog with dignity and respect in her last weeks with us. We would highly recommend Dr. Nekic.

Dr. Nekic is a brilliant animal doctor. He takes the time to personalize contact with each pet. His diagnostic skills are remarkable. His kind and caring manner is appealing to pets. I highly recommend Dr. Nekic to anyone who appreciates the gentle manner of a veterinarian. And, the home visits service is phenomenal!

Always late, by hours. Difficult to contact, can't leave a message on his phone which he never answers. Poorly organized, keeps absolutely no records of animal care. Billing - seems to charge whatever he feels like on a given day, no consistency. Charges dramatically different amounts for the same services rendered to different clients. In my opinion highly questionable ethics. For someone who overtly cites James Herriot as his muse this guy couldn’t have strayed further from the path which he claims to follow. Overall just not someone you would want caring for your animals, especially given the number of highly qualified, dependable, reputable veterinarians available to choose from in the Columbus area.

I love Dr. Nekic! Yes, he is sometimes late, but what can you really expect with a mobile vet? It's not his fault how long visits take with his other pts. Ken has treated two of my pet rats, and he truly is a great advocate for his pts and will do whatever he needs to to make sure they get the best care possible. I called around for euthanasia prices and when Ken came to visit Edward, we treated him and was able to make him last several more weeks with a good quality of life. I am bothered that other people would leave poor ratings for the Dr because he was late. If you have a strict schedule, that's your problem and should not reflect poorly on this vet. Ken will spend as much time with you and your pet as he did with his other clients to ensure your pet gets the best care possible in their home. I would recommend ken to anyone.

Dr. Nekic is a mobile vet. He does house calls. He sometimes runs late due to other clients needs. When you call a plumber or a cable guy, they give you a 4-8 hour block. Be reasonable in your expectations of mobile service. Everyone wants someone in the evening at 7:00 sharp. If you need an exact time, stick your pet in a box and drive it to a vet. Our pets are older, and I'd never stress them this way. Once Ken arrives he is attentive and he goes above and beyond, and makes sure your pet receives the best care possible. He is an outstanding veterinarian. This is a throwback service that no other vet or doctor offers obviously due to the fact we now live in an instant gratification NOW society. If you learn to work with Ken, your pets will be much less stressed.

Dr. Nekic is great to my Pitbull. He always rememebrs him and his problems and gives him the best of care in our home. His rates are reasonable and he will even give advice over the phone if it is something that he is ware of in by dog. By far the best vet ever!!!!

Dr. Nekic was great to me and my two cats. He handled them very well. I would recommend him to anyone. He was referred to me as a great vet and he exceeded my expectations. Price was a lot lower than I had expected which is a great perk. Professional and extremely great with my cats.

Dr. Nekic is never on time, he often is out of medicines that he needs. You cannot leave a message on his cell and he is very difficult to reach. He is also expensive and unreliable.

I was very disappointed with the punctuality of Dr. Nekic. On 3 different occasions he told me he was going to arrive at a certain time and ends up arriving 4+ hours later. I had to cancel plans for the evening every time. I couldn't imagine how late he would be if it were an emergency! Also he is outrageously expensive especially when you factor in the time inconvenience. Some people have to work EARLY the next morning! I have already switched to another veterinarian that does home visits as well and is available 24 hours - he is great and MUCH less in cost. If you love your animals PLEASE research your vets - if they have bad reviews there is a REASON why!

Dr. Nekic is not always on time I admit. However, he always delivers. I have used Dr. Nekic for twelve years and he is spot on with his diagnosis. He has a calming effect on my animals. He seems disorganized but he knows exactly where everything is and knows what he needs. He reminds me of the old country doctor. No frills. Just the way medicine used to be and should continue to be. I would never believe that he ever "flirted" with his clients unless they were his patients. Telling a kitten or pup that they are beautiful are character traits of Dr. Nekic. Would recommend him in a heart beat. Just be tolerant of his schedule. He does a 24/7 operation and he is a one man show. I consider it a blessing to have Dr. Nekic as my "family" physician.

He makes a great first impression, but do not be fooled. He is unprofessional and unreliable. He is hours late for every appointment and sometimes doesn't show up until after 11pm on work/school nights. He does not keep records and his whole practice seems questionable. He seems to charge whatever he feels like on any given day. My biggest concern was I wondered if my animal was getting the correct medicine/dosage. DO NOT trust your pets with him.

We had a two-year problem where our dog would have episodes every few months where his behavior was erratic and he feared and refused all human contact violently, but without biting. Our regular vet always chalked the problem up to anxiety or minor seizures. We called Dr. Nekic after a very bad episode where our dog was in this state for 2 days and we could not transport him to the vet. Dr. Nekic makes evening house-calls for a reasonable rate. Dr. Nekic carefully listened to the history of the problem and determined that he was suffering from a cervical spine injury that has flare-ups. Two traditional vets never thought of this. After two series of shots including steroids, anti-inflammatory, and muscle relaxers, Peanut is back to normal. Plus, for the first time in 2 years, we know what to do to prevent a recurrence! Dr. Nekic was wonderful! He gives pragmatic diagnoses without nickel/diming for every time he touches your pet. Highly recommended!!

Great vet, travels to the home of the animal which greatly reduces the stress of treatment on the patient. Cares deeply for the well being of his patients and works tirelessly to ensure proper treatment. Travels the Columbus area extensively, since he provides such specialized care to each animal (unlike a "turn and burn" clinic where the objective is to see as many patients as possible in as little time as possible) he can get behind schedule but always calls to provide an update as to when he will arrive. Best vet I have ever had treat my pets, wouldn't want anyone else responsible for their care.

Dr. Nekic has proven to be an exceptional veterinarian. He was referred to us through a trusted friend in a emergency situation with our ailing cat. It was such a relief to have a very knowledgeable, compassionate vet who actually took the time to explain the procedures for saving my cats life. I have counted on Dr. Nekic for emergency home care many times,not only my cat (who is doing wonderful under his care) but also my other pets as my full-time vet. He continuously demonstrates his passion about his work and his patients in the community.
It is so good to know that in a time of crisis you can call a wonderful veterinarian who really knows his stuff and REALLY cares!
I highly recommend Dr. Nekic as one of the best!!

Dr Nekic is a rare breed all his own. Who finds a vet that will do house calls 24/7?! He has been our vet for years and has earned our respect and trust. We have recommended him to family and friends who all love him too! The person that said he was late, ask yourself if it was your dying pet that had an appt. before the one he made with you, would you want him to rush out to be punctual?! See how quickly you can get into your vets office at 9 PM. I have been fascinated by his stories and his total calm deameanor while we have been in our little crisis. It certainly leaves you feeling better. He is also always ready to help an animal that another vet would put down. He has helped us through that process as well with compassion, even so far as transferring our beloved lab to be cremated after her death. I highly recommend him and his lovely staff!! Susan LaPens

Does not stress the necessity and do follow ups to see that grosely overweight dogs are getting the attention to reducing calories and only feeding recommended portions, in the case of atleast one patient he has seen several times over the past year, this poor dog is morbidly obese, compromising her health, in another 2 to 3 months her stomach will be dragging the ground

Dr. Nekic has been my Vet for many years. He has always gone out of his way to care for my pets with no regard for his own time. When my cat, Sam, was sick he came to treat him every day for over a week. Sam had cancer and when it was time we said good-bye together. I know Dr. Nekic cares for our pets as much as we do and will spare nothing - time or caring - to do his best. I never mind waiting for him, after all I am home and he is in his driving all over town. BNN

After having one too many rough and brisk vets handle my dogs, it has been a relief to find a vet as compassionate, gentle, and honest as Dr. Nekic. He provides high quality care and has saved my dogs long-term problems by quickly diagnosing and treating them thoroughly.

Worst vet in Columbus, IMO. I have dealt with him myself as well as spoekn to many people who ave used him. He is ALWAYS late - by hours, not minutes. He sometimes doesnt even respond, even when clients state it is an emergency. I have seen the inside of his facility - dirty needles all over, filthy conditions (he is mobile, so most wont see his building). He neglects to test for obvious conditions, leading to worse problems. I know two cases that were neglected so long that by the time the owners swithced vets it was too late.
