these doctors are unqualified to the extreme. they misdiagnosed my 16 yr-old lab mix with a yeast infection + almost killed him w/ antibiotics. then they suggested steroids when all that didn't work. we are so disappointed w/ their care + their subsequent denial of ALL responsibility after charging us $1,500 for our poor old guy to only get worse. as soon as I did my own research, it became apparent that they were mis-treating him. their C.O.O. Mr. Makkar was awful to me when I sent a formal complaint--he was insulting + quite vicious to me, when I demanded an inquiry. Very, very awful experience.

Dr. Palmquist seemed knowledgeable, but was rushed. His diagnosis about one issue was more precise than a previous vet's but I never felt 100% about the current issue. And, their prices are far from 'budget'. This is a VERY busy practice & every other pet parent in the waiting room raved about him so I'll go back, but not for everything. I'll use my other vet as well.

I used Dr. Palmquist for alternative care for my dog who was diagnosed with liver disease in May 2006 after another vet gave her only 4 mos. to live. I have been using the nutritional supplements and glandulars prescribed by Dr. Palmquist. It is almost two years later my dog is still going strong. I live too far to see Dr. Palmquist, but I have referred people to him and he has helped their dogs. Great place to go for alternative medicine and care. Great staff and great vets.

Dr. Richard Palmquist, his associates, technicians, and staff are absolutely excellent. They are skilled, compassionate, friendly, knowledgeable, prompt, and courteous. The clinic is small and humble but clean and cheery, well-equipped, and has plenty of free parking. They use a combination of traditional and alternative veterinary medicine/treatments, and explain everything thoroughly to pet owners. Their prices are reasonable and they don't try to con people into buying more services than their pet needs. If you live on the Westside, this is the very best clinic for your pet!
