The five star ratings are of course the staff. This animal "hospital" is all about cash. Do this test, do that test, ohh and we have yet another test. Then you have to call and follow up to get the results of the test. Once they get the sense you want to stop the tests, they stop caring. This place gives true Animal Hospitals a bad name. BEWARE

Kind and caring staff. Everyone was down to earth and friendly. Our older cat needed a growth removed, and they took great care of her. Clean and modern facilities. I appreciated the layout of the rooms. After the surgery and the trip home I was pleased to receive a follow up phone call the next day just to check on how she was doing. A few days later some stitches pulled out (from her own doing) and they scheduled an immediate revisit - at no cost. They paid attention to detail, provided great care, followed up with me, and were very pleasant. Pricing is a bit high, but the quotes were up front and accurate. In our situation the value of care and service received was worth the investment to keep our special senior citizen happy and healthy.

Beware! Sugarloaf is a decent place for regular check ups and routine procedures. Be advised that the deceny disappears when your animal has a life threatening illness. We were given the choice to either put or beloved dog down or follow up with tests with little hope of a successful outcome. As soon as we gave indication we would likely put him down we were told we had one hour to get there to do it or we would be charged in excess of an additional $700 (they would continue to run tests.)There was absolutely no option of "keeping him comfortable" until the entire family could be there and no consideration to what a difficult decision this was. As soon as they realized no more money would be applied toward the animal the attitude of the doctors and staff changed. They became short and clearly wanted us to pull the plug and get out of thier way. I would have paid double for a little compassion for our dying family. I'm simple appalled and heartbroken!
