Agreed. I went in for an emergency and the doctor on overnight weekend was rude and condescending. I paid $218 and said I would follow up with my own vet the next day. They can near forced the euthanization on me and tried to bill me $1300 when that was their decision. The doctor's comment-still ringing in my head- was , 'Well when you have pets, there are unexpected costs." No you need unexpected funds for facilities trying to upcharge your bill and refusing to release your animal. And the doctor lied. When she said, she is gone, my dog was still breathing. They made me sign an attorney promissory note for the $96 balance.
More heartbreaking was that the doctor kept talking about killing our dog when she saw my 13 year old child (also Autistic) unravel at the work each time. They people are monsters.
