8/13/15   5     5     5     5   We had our puppy and kitten spayed laparoscopically (couple of really small incisions) at CareFirst Oberlin. The doctors and staff did a FANTASTIC job!! They are not only a great Vet practice for our loved pets. They also help train & support a bunch of Vet students from NC State. They also help take care of dogs & cats from the SPCA, 2nd Chance Pet Adoption and other volunteer organizations. This is a 1st class Christian run organization. I highly recommend CareFirst AH. Click to report rating    9/12/09   3     5     5     2   There is a line item on the invoice which states a Super Wellness Profile without a definition or discussion of what that is and represents a large chunk of the invoice. They are one of the most expensive hospitals I've visited. CareFirst Animal Hospital (which Oberlin is now called) is one of 5 and seems to be a corporate entity. Staff is not always attentive to detail when it comes down to indicating correctly why an animal is admitted either on the chart or on the computer. RID: 14232
Click to report rating    8/9/07   5     5     5     5   I love Oberlin Animal Hospital. I too am shocked at what the other poster said about Dr. Gordon. I have a friend who had to put a beloved dog to sleep and Dr. Gordan drove out to her house and put her dog to sleep in his own doggy bed. My dog normally sees Dr. Wages and likes her a lot. She will sit on the floor with my dog and talks to him like he can understand instead of just talking to me. I love the vet techs and other support staff. They have always answered my questions and listened to me. I would recommend Oberlin Animal Hospital. RID: 5537
Click to report rating    5/25/07   5     5     5     4   I'm shocked at another user's comments about Dr. Gordon and the staff at Oberlin. I feel the staff is what makes the hospital what it is. I know several staff members that have worked there for years and I really haven't seen any turnover since I began taking my pet there. Dr. Gordon is great at what he does (and spends a lot of his 'profits' on pet rescue and SPCA support) and the other vets and techs I've met there are friendly, knowledgable, and easy to talk to. My dog loves going to the vet and she has received what I feel is the best care we could have chosen for her. RID: 4132
Click to report rating    5/18/07   5     5     5     5   I have been coming here for about one year. I am thrilled with the excellent care my Italian Greyhound and little Chihuaha receive. All the doctors are wonderful. I also like being able to pick up my pet from boarding on a Saturday or Sunday. I feel my animals are safe here. RID: 3999
Click to report rating    4/17/07   2     4     2     2   I will not take any of my animals back here for any reason. Dr. Joe Gordon only cares about making a profit at the cost of the animals. His staff misdiagnoses animals regularly. Dogs are not monitored well during surgery, and as a result a lot of them either die or have complications. There is a lot of staff turnover because of bad management. The good vets and vet techs leave quickly. Don't be fooled by the high tech appearance of the clinic, it's not worth risking your animal's life. RID: 3468
Click to report rating    12/16/06   5     5     5     5   Very caring, professional, prompt staff and doctors. I've been taking my pets there 17 years and have never had anything but top-notch care. They even sent us flowers and sympathy cards when we had to have two of our pets put down. RID: 1296
