Both Dr Rene Varela and Dr Suraya Haldeman are caring and knowledgeable.they always explained what they are doing and why they are doing it. They always take care of my cat and of his needs and their staff are cordial and welcoming and call us by name. Kudos to both of them.

We went to the location in Boardman, OH. Signed up for the optimum wellness package and was nickled and dimed every time we were there. According to them we needed pain medication and a cone after being "fixed". Never used either and even told them we didn't need them but we still got charged extra. Went for a "wellness" check up only to find that it was going to be several hours...really? To listen to heart, lungs, draw blood and a few other minor things was going to take several hours...we left. Trying to cancel the wellness plan after one year was a nightmare we were left on hold after "pushing buttons" the first time for over 55 minutes; the second time for over 45 minutes...got nowhere. Finally after much complaining to the Boardman location I got through. Terrible customer service on corporate's part. Would never recommend them.

My name is chris and i took my dog diego to the towson banfield because i was fed up with beltway and carny but banfield was worse then them all .A dr.Suraya Haldeman the vet at banfield talked my roomate and i out of 571 for a heart test and some blood work.We never got the blood work he said he was going to do. diego is on Vetmedin, lasix, digoxin and potassium supplements he told us to do the test and he would be able to take care of our pet .after the test i got acall asking for more money to get digoxin levels He was suppose to do that the first time around because he said the drug was toxic. Then after i complain to the unit manager he decided to call my roommate and tell him that he wanted to fase out the drug and do blood work in two months.well the new drug we were told to fill wasnt even the drug he said he would give us it turned out to be Spiranolactone which is apotassium sparing water pill,no instructions were given. he could have killed my pet.diegowastaking potassium!

I bought a $20 "puppy pack" and received a bag of dog food, a puppy bath, vet exam, coupons and it even included getting my puppy micro-chipped. The only thing they tried to sell me was a vaccination that my dog actually needed. The staff was friendly, the doctor professional and I only waited about 40 minutes. All in all I felt it was a good bargain. However that being said I do not think their wellness plan (once I reviewed the literature) is a good value. Also, if my dog needed more than the routine vaccines I would probably go to my local vet to receive more personalized service.

Every time I go to this vet the staff pushes for tests that my dogs do not need. My dog has degenerative disc disease and they want to take x-rays every single time I need pain medication for her. They are not compassionate at all and act like they are in a hurry. I wish I did not have their wellness plan. BEWARE!!!!

I had a scheduled appointment and waited for over 2 hours to be seen all because of some clinic they had. This is by far the worst experience I have ever had. The people at the front desk are rude and uncaring, the nurse was an idiot, and the vet barely even examined my pet. All of that and I still have no clue what is going on with my pet and I don't believe the vet does either. Waste of time and money. BEWARE AND STAY AWAY!!!!

This hospital is a rip off, unfortunately. As said before, it's a good choice for routine care and the hours are convenient, but that's it. My dog had an ear infection - they charged us $50 for a 1 oz antibiotic, $35 to look through her ears and the dog didn't get any better. We took her to her old vet and what she actually had was a nasty bump inside the ear canal that was causing an infection in the area. Needless to say, the medication cost only $18,00. We then told the Doctor at Banfield about her lameness on one leg. He found a way to list a bunch of tests to "exclude" Lime's desease that would cost us almost $1,000. But hey, surprise! The other vet charged not even 10% of it, said it was a sprain, she took aspirin and is as happy and jumpy as it can be. I can't even imagine how much would have cost us to treat her epilepsy at Banfield and I'm glad my husband hesitated to do it. Her diagnose's cost and med were very reasonable at the other vet. Stay away from BF.

Waiting area was filthy. Some of the staff members were very helpful and considerate, but some copped an attitude. Veterinarian performed at least one unnecessary exam and tried to push treatment for a highly suspect diagnosis. Vet was unable or unwilling to adequately explain either my pet's condition or the rationale for treatment. Wait once we were back in an exam room was excessive and unexplained. We were also nickled and dimed for services. About the only thing this hospital had going for it was that it has convenient hours. This place might be a reasonable choice for routine care and shots, but I wouldn't trust them with anything serious.

I love Banfield! I have taken my puppy Joey there since he was a couple months old and he loves going there, and how many dogs love going to the vet? I put him on a "wellness plan" and it saves me so much money on routine shots and I never have to pay for an office visit, just a small fee each month. I tried other vets and wasn't as satisfied.
