On Tuesday February 1st, 2011 at 5:45, my friend had taken in my Chihuahua that had just been mutilated by a wild animal. Her wounds were very extensive and obviously in need of immediate care. Dr. Martin told my friend that there is nothing he could do because they "close in 15 minutes" and "this dog needed serious surgery." My friend then had to drive 40 minutes to get to the next clinic due to inclement weather. During the drive, my pet was in complete agony, screaming in pain, and losing lots of blood. By the time he had arrived to the second clinic, she was in complete shock and there was nothing that could be done to save her. Dr. Martin was not compassionate enough to at the very least relieve my dog of the pain it was enduring, or offer gauze to apply to the wound. Even if he was not well equipped to perform the actual surgery needed to potentially save my pet’s life, I feel there was something that he could have done to ease her pain.
