From the time we entered the facility until we left, we were treated with the utmost dignity and professionalism by all staff. Dr. Reagan is such a compassionate, patient and caring veterinarian. Although we are heartbroken over the diagnosis/prognosis for our beloved Fiona, we are beyond grateful for the level of care she received. We appreciate each and everyone that cared for her. We most definitely recommend this facility.??

The neurology department is considered the best in the country. Dr. Glass literally has written the book all other neurologists use to learn neurology. He personally did surgery on my frenchie who is back to normal one week after surgery!

I brought my 7 year old dog who was almost completely blind to Dr. Ringle. He was recommended to me by two different people and the price was fair. He did a great job doing cataract surgery and now my dog sees great and has his normal life back.(running without hitting objects, actually seeing his friends, etc...) I never waited long to be seen for any scheduled appointments. He is very good at explaining everything thoroughly and answering any questions.I'd recommend Dr Ringle to anyone who's animal needs cataract surgery. Thank you Dr. Ringle for giving Watson his sight back.

I took my cat to see Dr Ringle for his eyes, he first had conjunctivitis and then after it cleared up his eyes still looked a little foggy from far away so we were referred to DR Ringle. Turns out he had Uveitis. We were lucky to catch it early enough and after a few months of steroid eye drops his eyes are doing well and he requires no more treatment at all.

All this place cares about is money. I brought a foster cat in for an emergency visit and they kept asking me if I was going to "accept responsibility" even though I told them up front that I was going to pay for the care. I waited for almost an hour while the one Dr on duty took care of more important emergencies. An hour!! For an emergency!!!! I asked them if they were going to charge me less since they treated me like I was less of an emergency, and the receptionist got very rude with me. They may be open 24 hours, but if you value your pet's life, DO NOT GO HERE FOR AN EMERGENCY. Your pet might die waiting.

RBVH killed my beloved collie Jack He died due 2 the incompetence, inexperience and neglect of Rachel Baek, the lies of Dr Noemi Benitah and the gross misrepresentation of RBVH
J had surgery on Sat 7.16.11 & was set to come home Sun Instead, he aspirated Sat pm & was on O2 by Sun Dr B promised a vet would be in CCU but the vet was Baek, an intern who had graduated 2 months before & who had only been working as a vet for 2 wks! On Sun a.m., Dr B said there was something unusual on J's X-rays but none of the vets knew what it was. Images were sent to their radiologist, but since he wasn’t on duty, he didn’t read them until after J died. I saw J in CCU Sun 2am There was a water bowl by his nose even tho he wasn't allowed 2 drink His nose was caked inside w/blood from O2. RBVH doesn't have large O2 cages J died a horrible death on Mon. Even tho I never left RBVH, they only got me seconds before J died. I NEVER would have left him if I had been told an intern was sole vet in overnight CCU

Dr. Ringle treated my shih tzu for glaucoma. When we took her there, it was so severe we thought she may lose her eye. The Dr. was great and made sure he answered all of our questions. 3 weeks after beginning treatment, she is on the road to recovery and we aren't even considering surgery. Thanks to the entire staff at RBVH for their outstanding professionalism and especially Dr. Ringle for saving our Goober's eye. We traveled an hour each way to see him and it was worth every minute!

Brought our dog in with a sprained front ankle, and during the course of more than two hours a blood test was run to update the test done only several months ago as part of his annual physcial, we declined the x-rays that the vet said weren't really necessary but was suggesting anyway, and he left without a splint or bandage of any kind though he was still limping. All in all, it didn't seem like the treatment course was commensurate with the diagnosis, nor with the price.

When i found out my dog had a heart murmur I wanted him to see a specialist. The doctor was very kind to him and he answered all our questions and he also did a ultra sound of the heart and held him for that. They could of sadated him for that but didn't feel the need to do that. I didn't want him sedated because of all damage it could do over time to the organs. I really like the doctor he is one of the best cardiologist in the state.

Dr Trotter is by far the top vet in this state if not the country. I bought my dog Killian to be put down because he was ill, but Dr. Trotter would not just let him go with not trying everything possible. We wound up having to do it two days later but no regrets this time because we know we tried everything. Dr Trotter was right there for us, through the whole procedure of putting Killian down, he was so compassionate, he went out of his way to box him up and brought him out to the parking lot to us. Putting your pet to sleep is a very emotional moment for a lot of people, but Dr. Trotter certainly make you feel you came to the right place for it. Thank you Dr. Trotter.

My dog had eye surgery with Dr. Ringle. He was very good overall. I just wish that he would take the time to explain everything more thoroughly. Also, he should have warned of the complications that my dog suffered as a possible issue afterwards. He treated the complications well and my dog (Boston Terrier) is doing great. Also, the "parent" knows their "kid" very well and the hospital should listen more regarding the singularities of the dog- not try to immediately type cast the situation. Every animal is unique.

RBVH is very good clinically but very aggressive. There is no such thing as a consultation; before you can get a question out of your mouth, your pet is in the back receiving chemo. I've dealt with the cardiology and oncology departments and been pleased, but beware of neurology. There is a lot of double talk from the neurologists so you're never really sure where your pet stands..

RBVH is among the top 5% of Veterinary Hospitals in the world. This is true, in terms of facilities. There are lot of truly excellent Veterinarians in the country, but few can afford the diagnostic tools or space to treat you and your pet with the luxurious space, comfort, scope and scale of facilities & equipment needed for most accurate diagnosis, treatment. They also retain amazing staff aside from world class DVMs, which make the difference. The ratio of super qualified care takers, vet techs, specialists alone and their in house systems make it easier for the DVMs to do their jobs better and stay there longer, which is what makes them so good, their operations and management. You get every bit of what you pay for and compared to less inventive, well run and planned out "mom and pop" scale practices, their cost premium is not worth complaining about ever, since it is 10,000% better overall if you are in need of the care they provide. Big fan, as you guessed!

I brought my 2 cats for spaying and declawing and the vet (Dr. T. Trotter) was excellent both before and after surgery with caring for them. His techs were well versed in animal treatment and made me feel comfortable by keeping me advised of what to expect before and after surgery. Dr. T maybe very busy but he does call you and keep you informed of the progress of the condition of your pets. The cost may seem high to some but the level of care is well worth it. Thank You Dr. Trotter and staff for your caring of animals.

Dr. Ringle is so nice, & incredibly smart. He did in 2 visits what my normal vet could not fix in 7 or 8 trips (no hard feelings-they aren't specialistists). Pup has not been better in months. Super Duper Fly Rating for Dr. Ringle & this business. PS-The techs & receptionists are tops too!

I have been using RBVH for over 6 yrs, and to me there is not another animal hospital in the state of NJ that holds a candle to this hospital. I have five dogs and have been to numerous vets that were not able to diagnose my dogs when ill. I was referred to Dr. Green when my dog saw 8 vets in NJ and no one was able to diagnose him. Dr. Green diagnosed my yorkie with a livershunt and Dr. Salmeri did the surgery and they both saved my dogs life. Dr. Green is an internist, and the best diagnostic vet I have ever had, and caring beyond words. Dr. Salmeri is a surgeon that is one in a million. When I have not been able to see Dr. Green if there has been an emergency, anyone we have ever seen has been great. I can't say enough good things about RBVH. If you want the best care for your pets, and a state of the art facility where everything is available, I can't recommend RBVH highly enough. They may be more expensive, but you get what pay for, and for my pets, I want the best.

I recently took my 14 year old Eskie in to RBVH to see a cardiologist due to a chronic cough on the recommendation of my primary vet. Although this visit/consult was costly as compared to a visit to my primary vet, Dr DeRose and his staff were very open with me and didn't insist on unnecessary tests. Dr DeRose explained all the options available to me and I chose to try medication before coughing up a small fortune for an EKG. All in all, a very positive experience. The facility itself is immaculate and the staff which greeted me were cordial enough. Without hesitation I would take any of my dogs back here to see a specialist as needed.

To respond to the most recent post, RBVH is not "the only game in town" there is also GSVS if you're not happy. I can speak from plenty of experience that Red Bank is the most comprehensive, clean, and state of the art facility I've ever seen. As a vet tech I've worked at 5 hospitals and RBVH has surpassed every other one I've ever seen. Had I not moved 4 hours away I'd still be there because I've seen firsthand how caring, compassionate, and thorough the staff is. Yes, they are expensive but the cost is well worth the care!

I would attempt to perform surgery on an animal myself before I would bring another pet to this hospital. After my last experience with RBVH, I wanted to take a flamethrower to the place for what they put my dog through. I had considered attempting to sue for malpractice and consumer fraud, I regret that I didn't. Working in animal rescue, I’ve often had six or more dogs at a time in my care and have been forced to use RBVH for emergencies and other serious conditions because they are the only game in town (particularly for full service emergency care 24-7). Only on a handful of occasions did the animal being treated receive satisfactory care. Most, of the Doctors I’ve dealt with have been arrogant, impatient and cold. It’s been a few years since my last infuriating experience with that place and just thinking about it makes my blood boil. I'm sure there are good Doctors and staff members there, but I will never consider RBVH an option again, even as a last resort. Never.

Have to agree about the expense; but this facility is first rate and the surgeon we were dealing with constantly brought us up to date and gave us realisitc prognoses (sp) for our dog. Understanmd that Dr. Pamela Joyce has joined them from Belle Mead and my family considers her to be first rate vet who cares as much as the pet's owners.

there are other nearby options but oncology is outstanding...internal medicine needs a little work-read the first comment about the surgeon...maybe internist vets need to learn from surgeon vets about caring-that's a switch!

not happy, very high cost, took my pet to another animal hospital who told me my dog was not as ill as i was told. and felt my dog was well enough to go home contrary to what i was told previous day. new vet charged 194.00 for same tests as previous day that cost me 612.00 for 1 visit and quoted me 1800.00 for 3 days in hospital when it was not needed at all.

For specialized care they are great. There eye doctor is tops. But for routine care, they are expensive.

Great for emergency situations-for normal routine animal care, they are VERY EXPENSIVE. They are 24 hour-7 days a week and are housed in a huge building with the capability to handle any type of trauma or clinical veterinary specialty (except Horses I believe), therefore, you are going to pay through the nose. Great for emergency situations, not cost effective for routine care. Important-they won't fill another veterinarian's Rx. You (your animal) has to be a patient of theirs which I find ridiculous (I found that out the hard way).
