After adopting a kitten from a local cat adoption center, we were told we had to take him to see Dr. Gillis as he had done the initial examination and tests for this kitten and signed the health certificate. Just before the kitten's first birthday, he stopped eating and became very lethargic. I took him to see Dr. Gillis and he said the kitten looked like a 16 year old cat and didn't believe it was the same kitten until he checked the implanted chip. He knew by looking at the cat that he was extremely ill and more than likely that the kitten would not survive. However, he suggested a number of very expensive tests and, since I was very attached to the kitten, I agreed to the procedures. Long story short, the kitten had FIP, and died, after a $750 bill. A month later Dr. Gillis' office sent a card for the kitten's old year shots. Totally uncaring.
