NO NO NO! Pewaukee Veterinary Services!
March (2014) I took my cat there; diagnosed with crystals in his bladder, but otherwise strong & healthy.
Dr. Karen Selbert suggested a $2300.00+ surgery, but I asked for another option first. She cath'd him and sent home meds. He remained blocked so he had the surgery. Two days later still not peeing (catheter swelling his urethra), so they offered to keep him over the weekend at “no charge.”
That weekend Dr. Selbert cath’d him for the 3rd time in one week and when I asked her why when she could have extracted urine with a syringe allowing time for the swelling to go down, she said “’cause she’s always done it this way."
Monday he was still swollen. I could spend $3000.00 on another surgery or put him to sleep. My boyfriend was there, something horrific happened while he was being put to sleep too. I told him I NEVER want to know, but I am haunted by that. I’m so sorry Handsome Boy…you didn't want to die and I know you shouldn't have!

I started seeing Dr. Jeff Schuett back in the 80's when he worked out of a tiny office with his twin brother. He is a great communicator and very thorough. I've since moved but needed to him during a visit home. He remembered me and my dog, Rocky, from 15+ years ago. Every other vet I've seen there has also been great! They are a top notch veterinary hospital. A bit pricey, but worth it.
