I have been taking my parrots to Dr Bob for years. He is the best Avian Vet in the state of Ohio and beyond. His research has saved many lives. He is experienced, professional and treats his patients like they are human patients. On a scale of 1-5 he is a 10. He saved the life of one of my cockatoos and extended the life of my other one. He is also experienced with geriatric birds as my African Grey is 38.

I have taken my blue and gold macaw to doc Dahlhausen, for 7 or 8 years now. He has always taken excellent care of him, and has pulled him through a couple of rough times. My husband and I both think the "Doc" and his staff are the most genuine, and caring people you could possibly ask for. Dr. Dahlhausen, has met us with a sick bird at his facility, more than once,on off hours. If you have to wait a little longer sometimes, it's because so many people come from out of state to bring their "fids" to him. I would highly reccomend him to anyone, with an exotic pet. That's my honest experience with this DVM and facility. Thank you, Mr. and Mrs. Carr and "Billy bird".

I have been going to Dr. Bob for 8 years with a ferret, lizard, parrots, rabbit and in all of those they have been wonderful to me and my pets, in illness and in health. I recommend him all the time!! There is a wait to be seen which is the only drawback to this office, but it has gotten better this past year.

I took my 8 year old, deceased pet chinchilla to the office in June 2010 for a necropsy to determine cause of death. He said it was pneumonia. She had shown no visible signs. I took the remaining chincilla in to make sure she did not have it. The doctor gave her a clean bill of health. I bought a new chinchilla to keep the original one company. Within nine days of her being at my house she had died. I took the second deceased chinchilla in to have a necropsy on July 11, 2010. I was told the necropsy would be done within the week. As of August 30, I still have not received the results although I have been charged $85 for the necropsy. I have called the office numerous times and also mailed a letter, but the doctor does not call me back. I have been charged for a service I have never gotten the results for and I also think my chinchilla that was given a clean bill of health may have been misdiagnosed...otherwise how would the newest chinchilla die within nine days?

Dr. Bob is the most kind, caring and compassionate avian vet I've ever known. He takes the time to do all the necessary tests and is a fine clinician and diagnostician. My bird has PDD. He came up with the blood test and x-ray to diagnose it. She has lived with this for over a year, thanks to his treatment. I would never go anywhere else. He is worth waiting in the office for. His costs are no higher, and in some instances, lower, than other avian vets. He has come in on a Sunday for an emergency for me.

Dr Bob and his staff are wonderful! I will not take my caiques to anyone else. We recently almost lost one of ours but Dr Bob and his staff (primarily Cathy) were able to save him.

Dr. Robert Dahlhausen - the best. I have been using Dr. Bob since 1992, over 15 years ago and thru five birds, a pocket parrot Boomer, an African Grey Alex, a Cockatiel Jorge, a Paraket Thumper and now an Amazon Miss B, in every instance Top Notch Care. Our Afircian Grey Alex succumbed to Wasting Disease after some number of months of Top Notch Care. Dr. Bob did not hesitate to use his, then research stage Vaccines, to try and save him. At this time, the research was in "early stages" and we hoped for the best, the same would be done with a human. Research is Very Important, otherwise, how/where do the "mairacle vaccines and treatments" come from to "save/treat" one of our loved ones. On our last visit to his office on 09-25-2008 for Miss B's wellness check (all was well), Dr. Bob did not hesitate to make sure all was well with Miss B, but fully answered my questions without hurry or rushing us. The person complaining below - Family Emergencies are just that FAMILY EMERGINCIES!!

He had been phoned at home because his DAUGHTER is more important than your bird. My dad is an AMAZING person and more so an AMAZING VET! He was rated the BEST AVIAN VETERINARIAN in the WORLD. I am sorry your bird didn't make it, but my dad had a situation he had to take care of at home. You'd do the same.

Dr Dahlhausen is supposed to be this nationally known avian vet, but he and his office have killed two birds in our house. The first was due to laziness as his breakfast was more important than his patient. He had been phoned at home and KNEW of the situation as he had done surgery on the bird two days before. It died in the parking lot 10 minutes after his office was supposed to open with nobody there. He couldn't even bother to show up at the time his office was scheduled. Fast forward a couple years and a different bird was seen by his office and after a quickie inspection we were given antibiotics and sent on our way. The bird never really got well and after it got worse, we went to a different vet and it was kept overnight and died before morning. We were told there was no way Dahlhausen's office could have run the tests that should have been run as one took two days and they were done in 20 minutes. Don't buy into any hype about this guy...he's bad news for your pet!

DR BOB IS A GREAT RESEARCHER! I used to use him for my main vet for several years. I now I believe I go to a vet with more clinical Avian experience, who's main concern is for my bird and not research. I work and need a vet with hours on Saturdays and able to contact in am emergency. Also he can "fix it" in one or two visits. I still consider Dr. Bob one of the best and would not hesitate to use him to save my bird.

Dr Bob is the best around. He will actually take his time and discuss whats going on with your bird. He will always tell you what you need to do and how to do it to get your bird better. I drive about 200 miles to see him. I used him when I lived in Cincinnati, but i've moved, and no other vet around here gave me the treatment that he's given me. He is the best and I will always use him no matter what i live. His number is 513-576-1990 is anyone has a problem that they think cant be fixed. HE WILL TRY

He treats only birds and exotic animals. He is a wonderful avian vet, would never use anyone else to treat my feathered flock. I gave them 5 stars due to the fact that he saved the life of my Moluccan Cockatoo that was injured by another facility. Dr. Bob rocks!!!
