I simply cannot say enough great things about Dr. Smith!!! We own large parrots and is the only vet we would ever use. She is caring, amazingly knowledgable and very nice. I actually work at a veterinary office where I get a discount but still continue to take my birds to her anyway. Her prices are beyond resonable and cheaper than most cat and dog vets (unheard of for an exotics specialist) She is the only vet I would ever recommend for birds. Definatly worth the hour drive we take to see her. Also great about seeing us on short notice and giving advice over the phone. Again...the best vet I have ever known...HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommended.

Dr. Smith works out of her Placerville office three times a week and travels throughout the surrounding area on the remaining two. We are only acquainted with her treatment of birds, though she might treat reptiles as well. She is a wonderful, caring doctor. Her love for birds is evident as she soothingly talks to them while examining her patients and withdrawing blood, etc. Equally important, though, is how well Dr. Smith can explain the bird's problem to the owner and instruct on administering medication, setting up a hospital cage, etc., all without making the owner feel clueless. She is truly a gem and we highly recommend her. Dr. Smith has operated successfully on one of our cockatiels and has extracted a malformed egg from a parakeet. She obviously loves her work and it shows. Her prices are very reasonable.
