I took my 3 month old puppy in for her final shots. She developed a few pinkish spots on her nose but I didn't think anything of it. Figured the cat just got her (and for good reasons!) They diagnosed her with demodex mites. They are very common in younger and older dogs. The doctor told me I would have to bring her in and leave her all day and they would give her a toxic dip. Said they would have to shave her beforehand too and that she would probably become depressed for several days after each dip. Yes, I said EACH. Few months process minimum. No other option was given to me. Trying to keep it together I went to pay for my visit, receptionist was extremely unfriendly as well. I bawled my eyes the whole way home and immediately went online to research everything myself. Needless to say, I got a 2nd opinion and received an easy to give oral medication. 2nd vet told me that the dips are highly outdated and he doesn't even offer them. I will not be going to the 1st vet EVER again!!!
