I just called to get an estimate for a well-dog visit and the cost to update my dog's shots. Extremely disappointing to find that the receptionist would/could not give me pricing as that is "up to the doctor." This is ridiculous! I recommend that cost conscious pet owners join me in utilizing the Salt Lake County Animal Services for routine care.

Staff at university veterminary hospital are the most careing and helpful individuals. They went absolutely out of their way to help my dog even as far as calling me on a Saturday to let me know of a new idea my vet had (Dr. McIlvenna)on how to care for her Kidney Disease which came about from a conversation with the other veterinarians. They have made the deterioration of my dogs health much more bearable when comfort seemed impossible. I LOVE THIS VETERINARY CLINIC!

I was very impressed with the knowledge and compassion on my first visit. I called 30 minutes before closing(I was one of those people!) concerned about my cat. They were able to see me right away, and were extremely welcoming, never making me feel like a bother for coming in so late. Dr.Zelnik was very thorough, and explained everything thoroughly, giving her recommendations. I am a certified veterinary technician myself, and I truly felt taken care of. She was very understanding of cost and gave me an estimate of what everything would cost(very reasonable), and supported my decision either way. Definitely the best animal hospital I have been to here.

The University Vet Center is a very nice place, but they are way overpriced. They will nickel and dime you and its terrible. Average cost of a visit is 150 dollars. It is really rediculous.

I waited forever in waiting room and had receptionist asking me questions popping her gum in my face other then that visit was not too bad.

We have had our adult dogs seen here, as well as a litter of puppies. The staff is wonderful and always willing to answer questions. The cost of services for the puppies was significantly less that what was expected. The new facility is state of the art and incredible.

The vets are great and the facilities are state-of-the-art but, maybe because of this, they charge quite a bit more than seemingly anywhere else in town. They also tend to suggest expensive tests often (which cost more than elswhere, even though everyone uses the same external lab.)
