Click to report rating    1/4/11   5     5     5     5   I am a first time puppy owner and was so nervous about finding a good vet that I could afford. Dr. Susla was awesome, extremely informative on our puppy's skin condition but our little lab mix was totally comfortable with him. I won't be getting her spayed there since it is a bit pricey (with all the additional suggested testing and boarding) but otherwise their rates are fair...and just having such a friendly staff makes a huge difference too. We'll be going here for years. :) RID: 21775
Click to report rating    9/6/08   3     4     4     2   JYP has been my vet for over 10 years. Lately, I have noticed the service has been on a bit of a decline. I have noticed additional/surprise charges during my pet's boarding. At times, staff and doctors can be vague about conditions and ailments of my pet. Receptionist can be hit or miss in terms of friendliness and professionalism. Overall, I am starting to see a divide in the monetary value and service in this hospital. Boarding can be very costly as pets are treated without notifying owners, resulting in surprise bills upon pick up. Also, if a bath is declined, pet is returned filthy. Buyer Beware - should your pet have dry skin and you elect a bath during the visit, this vet charges $18 for a therapeutic bath. For a 4 day board, my dog was bathed twice at $18 per bath. I was gobsmacked when I picked him up! Sadly, I am going to look for a new vet. Be careful. The staff and doctors are good but they like to find ways to add on to your bill when they can. So watch out! RID: 9910

5/11/08   5     5     5     5   Dr. Susla and Dr. Fox are very good -- I don't go to them regularly because my regular vet, Dr. Bailey, is in Deland. But because my regular vet isn't always open on Saturday, Dr. Susla has seen my animals several times - particularly my cocker who was being treated for IMHA and was *very* ill. I've found Dr. Susla to be very wise and incredibly helpful and worked with us in a very difficult situation. His veterinary decisions are very good ones -- you aren't paying for showy surroundings, but he has more equipment than most vets around. This is one of the few clinics you can go to and get your dog's blood pressure taken!! Both Dr. Susla and Dr. Fox *listen* ... I've been treated very well there and have recommended them many times. The facility is a bit outdated, but very clean. I am alway promptly attended to and have not experienced a long wait for my appointment. RID: 4516
