Click to report rating    12/9/12   5     5     5     5   I've been using Ft Thomas Animal Hospital for more than 20 years and the reviewer below must have been having a bad hair day. This hospital treats everyone with respect and honest concern for any animal brought in to use their services. I've had three Elkhounds and a Cocker use this hospital exclusively and cannot imagine a better hospital for dogs and cats. I am not in any way connected to FTAH and would not ever think of going elsewhere for my pets. I had to put my Elkhound down on Dec 04, 2012 and it was like everyone working there were members of my family offering support for the hardest decision that a pet owner has to face at sometime in their lives. The staff actually know what they are doing, from the person cleaning the floor all the way to the veterinarians. They will help you in any conceivable way that they can and then ask you if you would like some more help. Don't let one reviewer who knows nothing about how a good hospital works steer you away. Click to report rating    8/10/10   1     3     3     3   I took a 3 year old papilion with a swollen belly for an exam. No blood work was done, few questions asked and ineffective medications given. My question on a follow-up visit was,"Do any of these symptoms send up any red warning flags to you as a vet? In other words, is there something I should be overly concerned about. The answer was "No, there is nothing seriously wrong." That was on a thursday afternoon. I was not really satisfied with this response since these medications had no affect on my dog. I took her to a specialist in Wilder who told me that she had a liver shunt and that her liver was on it's last legs. There was surgery but hope was slim since I had wasted 10 days at Fort Thomas Animal Hospital. By Saturday morning my beloved pet was so far gone, she had to be euthanized. There is no one to blame but the vet at Fort Thomas for not acting sooner. RID: 19152
