Excellent: Our cats have had excellent care with Dr. Bird and Dr. Christensen. Their professionalism, knowledge and compassion for our animals through the years has been exemplary, whether during common animal health treatments or more complicated procedures, but especially when those 'tough emotional decisions' needed to be made. Recently, both veterinarians, the entire staff and especially Heidi, the office manager, have been a model of patience and helping 'above and beyond' while we tried to negotiate the quagmire of paperwork, timelines, and working with 3 additional agencies ( USDA, German Consulate, United Airlines) to get our childrens' 2 cats to them in Germany (military deployment). I never hesitate to recommend McKinleyville Animal Care Center. Thank you for all you do, and do so well!

Dr.Trobitz sold out! They prescribed too strong of a dose of insulin for my diabetic cat AND told me not to worry about testing his blood, for $75! Luckily I tested him anyway because he was almost in a coma, bsl 11!. All they had to say was, oh sorry and would not give me a refund or better meds. Sold me expensive special food that ran his blood sugar way up also, even though it is for diabetics; again did not care at all and would not give me a refund. When I had to have a cat put to sleep, they simply walked in, shot her and walked out with no warning at all. They should wait for the owner to be ready when putting to sleep a 17 year old pet. Paid hundreds of dollars for an abcess & was told to run the antiseptic through the tube when you are supposed to run NEXT to the tube, so it got worse! Gave my dog very expensive unneccessary stiches, without consulting me, then when she pulled them out told me she didnt need them and refused to give me a refund. Often don't tell you the fees.

I've had nothing but great experiences! Dr. Trobitz and his staff are always friendly and treat my puppy as if it were part of their family.

My girls always enjoy there trip to the spa when I have to travel. They come home brushed and well kept. I find it comforting that I don't have to worry about their care when I am unable to travel with them. Dr. Dave has always provided the best of care,

I have had nothing but wonderful experiences with the clinic. Dr Trobitz has always gone the extra mike in caring for my pets. Even after I moved to Oregon he went out of his way to help me find the best care for my chihuahua and was always available when I had questions or concerns. My mom still takes all of her pets there and we would never consider another vet fit for the job. Big thanks to Dr. Trobitz and all of his staff...we truly appreciate you!

I picked my dog up from their boarding facility-he had urine and fecal matter all over his hind end area that was dried. For what I paid a day-no one could bother themselves to clean my dog up. I boarded him for 6 days-now I have to wonder if he was like this the entire time. So much for being a professional boarding place. Do your pets a favor find somewhere else to board them when your out of town. I left a message for the owner to please call me to discuss this matter,I never received a call. But I'm sure they took my money and skipped all the way to the bank not caring my pet was covered in his own waste. You people make me sick.

Seemed very unclean. Staff seemed confused as to what their jobs were. Technicians were the rudest I have ever met. Unhelpful and unapproachable. I felt like I could not get a simple questioned answered so I left. For you and your pets health and safety go somewhere else.

MAJORLY UNPROFESSIONAL AND RUDE. i brought my dog in yesterday and was not satisfied with the service. in was seen be Dr. Bird. she was rude and did not listen to my questions. it seemed like she only wanted my money and didnt care about my dog. i was telling her about my dogs back issues and she repeatedly tried to walk out the door between my questions. my dog is still in distress and questions unanswered. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY OR YOUR TIME!

this vets office is rude and only cares about money. David trobitzs parents would be ashamed of him. They were very upstanding folks, and dr david Trobitz used to be when his parents were alive. now he is as greedy as it comes. Sahme on you.

i stopped in, made a appointment for my dog, arrived on the day of the appointment on time, only to set in the waiting room for over 30 mins without one of the 6 staff members even acknowledging or apologizing to me for the wait..., I LEFT AFTER 30 MINS ....maybe they should hire someone with people skills. i hope the owner gets this message loud and clear, and i will tell all i know...DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME!..

I am sorry to say that the service has become unbearably bad. There are lots mistakes made with my cat's medicine which take several phone calls and finally a written request to correct (and not just one time.) I have been "lectured" by Dr. Rosenfeld and heard her talking to staff in a way that isn't appropriate. They no longer keep regular hours (closed often on Friday or Saturday) and I have missed work to attend the Saturday vaccination clinic only to find they aren't having it that day. I have been a customer since they first opened and first saw Dr. Trobitz in '81 or '82 when he worked at Arcata Small Animal. He is not the problem, the organization of the business and training of employees is the problem and it seems to be getting worse and worse. I am very sorry to say that I will have to find somewhere else to take my pets and it is too bad as I am a good customer and have spent thousands of dollars there over they years.

We've always had wonderful experiences with MACC. Their staff are friendly, knowledgable and passionate about animals. I'm also greatly appreciative of all the work they do with the low cost spay/neuter program! I highly recommend MACC.

Absolutely fabulous, caring staff. Very clean, with modern equipment, virtually no wait, always greeted with a smile, and the doctors are very knowledgeable without making you feel as though you don't know anything. I would like to make special mention of Dr. Trobitz, for helping me care for my elderly dog and ensuring he lived a quality life until the very end.

I have always had an great experience there. They are not my personal vet because it is out of my way to drive there, but through my work (rescue) we use MACC and have had good experiences. They offer low-cost spay/neuter vouchers through rescue groups. They have low-cost vaccinations clinics. I do not know any of the doctors personally, just one staff member Elena who is very sweet and kind.
