I have used this hospital for over 12 years and I have always boarded my dogs there but this past year the staff has been unprofessional. When I walk in to get my dog the young girls are usually smirking or gossiping and I take it personal. I was very dissapointed by the staff front office presentation. Maybe they do not like me as a customer but I have given them business for over 12 years, and it is people like us that give them business so they can have their job. I think I will be using another boarding and vet from now on. I used to like the older woman that worked there in the past. She used to make everyone feel welcome.

Dr. Ross misdiagnosed a dog I had as having a thyroid problem and put him on a very expensive drug regimen. When he didn't improve, I took him to another vet who diagnosed him as having a faulty heart. Another friend of mine took her dogs to be boarded and specifically requested they be kept together. They weren't and when she picked them up both dogs were very distressed and showed physical signs of having been clawing at their pens, trying to reach one another.

Dr. Karen Ross is a very compassionate veterinarian. She always takes the time to be thorough, and explains the options when dealing with illness or conditions that your pet has. Something I particularly appreciate is that Dr. Ross recognizes that when her client has extensive experience with a certain breed, the client may be aware of idiosyncrasies in that breed that a veterinarian just may not have run across, and she will take the time to read or research your input. I have retired greyhounds, and there are differences in greyhound blood tests, anesthesia and a number of other things that are unique to the breed. Dr. Ross also respects quality of life for the animals she cares for, and will not try to push tests or treatments just for the sake of doing them. Just because a veterinarian CAN do certain tests or treatments does not always mean it is in the best interests of the animal. I want a vet for my dogs who is respectful of quality of life. With Dr. Ross I have that.
