My pets have received excellent care at Waipahu Leeward Vet Clinic. Even when my healthy, elder dog died suddenly at home - the staff was considerate and compassionate, easing the pain that we were going through.

Callers are kept on hold for unreasonably long periods in successive calls. Our dog is taken in for procedure at 8 a.m. (so dog has stopped food + water since 8 p.m. the night before. No one calls us about condition after the spinal injection as promised. So we make 4 calls before hearing that the vet wants to "reschedule" procedure. When asked for a refund receipt and files, doctor surprisingly overreacts or defensively "panics" and calls the cops! Four show up and doctor lies (receptionist can confirm the calm request made--shook her head in dismay when doctor made phone report to HPD). Clearly we don't want our dog treated in this facility! Our caring and competent vet moved to the mainland 7-10 days ago from this same clinic and this DVM must have taken her place unfortunately for our dog.

Hospitalized my dog but never told that no staff present after hours. My dog seemed to me to be worse. I asked 3 different veterinarians on staff that day to look at her. None did. No attention given to my concerns. She was not fed and over hydrated. Died during the night and was not told until I called in to check on her. Horrible experience. Staff not compassionate at all. Owns crematorium which seems like a conflict of interest.
