Red Maples Veterinary Clinic is disrespectful to their patrons and their decision-making is grossly incompetent. I took my dog to be evaluated by Dr. Burns for routine vomiting. After an x-ray, she recommended surgery to clear an "unknown mass." After spending $1,000 on a 2nd opinion, I learned there was no digestive obstruction and that of surgery was unreasonable. In a follow-up conversation with Dr. Burns, she flaunted her 40 years of veterinary experience and invited me to find another vet. She also stated she didn't realize I would’ve wanted, could’ve understood, or could’ve afforded alternative treatments, so she didn't offer them. I was willing to forgive Dr. Burns' incompetence and indecency and later called to schedule an appointment, but Dr. Burns called me back to make it clear I was fired as a patron for questioning her. Her statements left me appalled, offended, and feeling stupid for even being willing to forgive her and rekindle the patient/patron relationship

Dr. Burns is a gifted veterinarian- Her preliminary diagnosis is usually dead on. She is also quick to refer to specialists when needed and has the ability to get you scheduled quickly. She is a wonderful person as well and that radiates through her staff. All very kind and helpful. The office may not be brand new but i left a previous vet years back who did have a brand new building- yet they were always misdiagnosing my dogs. Dr. Burns solved the problem immediately. Hope she practices forever!!

I am relatively new in town, and I have only been to this clinic three times so far with my male kitten. But the people here have just been terrific. I am very impressed with everyone's sensitivity, knowledge, and professionalism. Greta Vet!

My family have been taking our pets to Red Maples for as long as I can remember and even after we moved out of Columbus we still continue going there. The staff and especially Dr. Burns are all very wonderful and extremely caring. They would do anything to make you and your pets feel comfortable and work hard to keep your pets as healthy as can be.

The office is disgusting. I wouldn't take a stray pet there to be euthanized.

The male doctor in this practice is just an idiot. Dr Burns is a nice lady and great vet-but her partner? Not so much.

Dr. Marian Burns a kind soul and outstanding person. I truly always feel welcome and know my loving pet is in terrific hands. I went to a different vet for over 20 years, then a corporate mentality set into place with that business and I felt my new pets deserved better. I just wish I could have given my past pets the opportunity as well. Support them they are great.......including the support staff.-Mike Foley-6/2009

Dr. Marian Burns is the best vet in the world. She has incredible compassion for her patients and provides unbelievable service to her customers. We recently lost a dog to spinal cord degeneration, and Dr. Burns came to our home on a Sunday evening to perform the euthanasia. The next day, she sent us condolence flowers! Dr. Gadd is not nearly as personable, but he is a competent vet. We always request appointments with Dr. Burns.

I have been taking my pets to Red Maple for more than 20 years and during that time I have found them to be sensitive and practical. Dr. Burns is wonderful; while Dr. Gadd is not very talkative I remember him sitting on the floor with my very old dog to check her out...gentle and caring. I think he is better with the critters than with people. I believe I get honest assessments when I have hard choices to make and I feel they respect my decisions. On several occasions they have squeezed me into a busy schedule...making their day longer.

Apparently this place is owned by the main vet and apparently she is supposed to be great but I was seen by their part time vet Dr. Jeff Gadd and he's not the greatest. I'm sure his diagnosis was correct and everything but he was not very personable and his voice was monotone. He made me feel like I was bothering him by being there. Also, the facility appeared old and worn down which would be ok except it didnt feel clean. The exam room smelled a little funky as well. Not only that but the wait was long both in the waiting room and in the exam room. Also, I found this to be one of the most expensive vets in the area. On a plus note, the secretaries and technicians were all very sweet and helpful. Not a bad place just not the experience I was looking for.
