My Shih Tzu had a horrible reaction to the distemper combo vaccine and nearly died. The next year when I refused to let them give him the vaccine, the vet threatened to turn me into the SPCA for neglect. It is not illegal to not give your pet the distemper vaccine, and I refused to let them kill him. I told them to go ahead and turn me in, but they weren't going to give him the vaccine. And, I've never been back!
