Click to report rating    9/26/11   5     4     5     4   if your not sure where would be a good place to take your pet, that you truely love. Try this vet. I would be willing to bet you'll be happy in the end as long as its Dr. G. that you see. RID: 27887
Click to report rating    9/3/11   1     1     1     1   My 6 year old Dachshund died from surgery complications because of an anal gland removal surgery performed here. After two days of oozing/smelling wound we brought him back and had him checked out again. Dr. Goodell wanted to wait a couple more days to see if it would start looking better. Not convinced with this plan of action we took him to the emergency room at the U of M, where they immediately discovered a very significant infection and rotting/sloughing skin and also that his colon was perforated in two locations, which caused fecal contamination of the surgery site and the massive infection. To make a very long and sad story short, we tried everything to save our dog. We spent over $12,000 and two months at the U of M vet center (awesome people there by the way), trying various things to save him. But in the end, we had to put him to sleep. RID: 27360
Click to report rating    6/30/10   5     3     5     5   If you are looking for a good, solid small animal vet who won't charge you an arm and a leg and won't recommend needless procedures or medications, Fort Road is the place for you. The facilities are small and the waiting area can get congested, though. RID: 18597

Click to report rating    2/10/09   5     5     5     5   Fort Road, Dr. Goodell has been our vet since he first opened his practice here. He is the best vet I have ever dealt with, and refer him to anyone that asks for vet info. He goes out of his way to treat animals (goes to elderly homes who are homebound and can't get their pets to him). He shows one on one attention on each animal. Would refer to anyone who is looking for an awesome vet and staff. RID: 11549

10/27/08   5     4     5     4   Fort Road Animal Clinic has been my vet for years. The Staff is personable and caring of my animals. The doctors are knowledgeable and are understanding of your financial needs and limits. This clinic is well priced in my experience. The is clean and presentable, rooms are cleaned with every appointment I've noticed. I've always been able to get in for appointments when needed, even on same day for serious problems. They are animal lovers and it shows! RID: 10380
Click to report rating    10/11/08   1     1     1     1   Nail clipping and nutritional commentary was fine from this vet, but after 3 years of going there and whn my dog got a major ear infection he could not establish the probem and it ended up costing more than anticipated and had to bring the problem to a diffrent Vet to fix it, not to mention the problems he caused by his diagnosis. I was surprised cause when it was just about little things he was fine, but he was stumped when it came to a real problem. It appeared he wanted me to keep spending money i did not have. RID: 10273
Click to report rating    6/11/08   5     5     5     5   My family has used this clinic for many years and I have continued taking my cat there after I moved out. The staff is great and knows how to take care of animals who need special attention. RID: 8834
Click to report rating    11/10/07   5     5     5     5   We have been seeing Dr. Goodell for our pets, first our cats, now our dog, for almost 20 years and couldn't be happier with the care we've gotten. He's patient and knowledgeable and I like the small, friendly clinic. We did have a bad experience with a weekend vet once (don't know his name but he was awful). I wonder if the person giving the bad rating on this site saw that vet and not Dr. Goodell. RID: 6408
Click to report rating    8/29/07   5     5     5     5   We have been taking our Sharpeis here for years. Dr.G is the best around for sharpeis. RID: 5779
Click to report rating    6/15/07   5     5     5     5   I own a shar pei, have been a client there for 5 years when I didnt know what I was getting into with this breed- Dr G was patient and very informative. They are great folks and facility, competitively priced overall, and WAY less expensive for entropian surgery too! RID: 4597

Click to report rating    4/5/07   5     5     5     5   If you own a shar pei Dr. Goodell is the vet to see. He has been working with sharpei's since the 70's. He saw one of the original 5 (or 7?) that came over from China. He knows his stuff and speaks with other shar pei experts around the country. Also, very familiar with Shar Pei fever. Very caring. I wouldn't go anywhere else. Affordable as well. RID: 3288
Click to report rating    2/4/07   5     5     5     5   Dr. Goodell has been our vet for over 15 years. We are a mulitple animal family (4 dogs, one cat) and he and the staff have been terrific in the healthy years, and especially during end of life times...I'm sure he's not the cheapest vet in town, but would you knowingly want to go to the cheapest doctor? I really appreciate the small size of the clinic; you're more than a file in the drawer to them! RID: 2605
