Our golden retriever Murphy swallowed an entire sponge while at Ledgebrook Kennel. The kennel refused to acknowledge responsibility, saying it did not use sponges. This even though Murphy had been there two days before he got violently ill and even though we made clear we did not use the kind of sponge he swallowed either. Though the kennel ultimately did not charge us for the two days at the kennel, it did not refund the $316 we were forced to pay the kennel's owner, Woburn Animal Hospital, when our dog became violently ill. This is not how we'd hoped to spend my wife's 70th birthday celebration. The kennel clearly should have taken responsibility for our dog's illness. I intend to report it to the state licensing agency.
