Click to report rating    11/9/07   4     3     4     4   Our dog began sneezing blood and was taken to emergency animal hosp. They gave her nothing for pain and didn't know what was wrong; became angry when she wouldn't let them mess with her face (painful). After seeing this I took her to Dr. B, our reg. vet; he instantly diagnosed and found a tumor above her eye (hence the pain- BTW, with his gentle manner, she let him "mess" w/her face). Gave her steroids to reduce swelling and this gave her so much relief. She gained about 2 wks more of life and was much more herself before the cancer became aggressive, tumor grew and meds did no good. Dr. Berge helped us get through letting her go (she was in too much pain to not do this). At least he helped her and us have a bit more time to say "goodbye." It was terrible but God bless him for his help. RID: 6404
Click to report rating    1/9/07   1     1     1     1   Personal Knowledge: CAT "A": treated with cortisone shots monthly for 2 yrs for unspecified "allergy", Went to Stonefield for 2nd op, 1st visit confirmed MITES. 6 stinky baths later is cured. Suffered needlessly for 2 yrs due to Dr. Berge CAT "B": 4 or 5 visits over 2+yrs, owner just believed cat to be ill. Each time: Berge says no prob or gave prednisone for "inflammation". Cat taken to Sims critically ill on weekend (Berge closed) Cat dx END STAGE kidney disease, died next day. Don't even let that man give a rabies shot. RID: 1878
